At that moment, the firefighters had already put out the fire, and some men were deployed for rescue. Some of the maids were crying, "Please save our madam," and some were silent. The maid holding Gaby searched among her colleagues standing outside but couldn't find the nanny or the child, and panic set in. What is happening? How did the villa catch fire? In the 10 years she had been working there, such an incident had never occurred. Why now? Gaby tugged at her skirt, asking, "Where is my mummy? Miss M, where is my mum's sister?"
She walked towards the butler, about to speak when she heard the ambulance and saw the madam being rolled on a stretcher alongside others. She hurriedly ran towards them and followed with Gaby.
Then, the sound of a baby crying echoed, and nanny James quickly patted the child on the head, handing her a bottle of milk. She stared at the child for a while before walking away towards a car several hours away from the villa. It was late at night, and the car drove off.
Two hours later, Ruby Allen woke up and scanned the entire hospital VIP ward. Faint sounds could be heard from her husband talking to the detective. "We're sorry, sir, but we didn't find the nanny or baby Allen."
No! She didn't hear that right, did she?
Charles Allen turned and saw his wife shedding tears already. He quietly walked to her side and held her. "No, Charles, no. Where is my baby?" she sobbed.
"I'll find her, I promise."
Just then, the door opened, and Miss M entered with Gaby. "Madam, you're awake," she rushed over to her side when...
Slap!
Miss M felt like the world was spinning and she held her face, her eyes becoming watery instantly. "Madam," she whispered.
"I asked you to check on her, where is my daughter? Tell me, did you plan this?"
"Ruby, stop."
"No, question every single one of them; they should know where my baby is," she said amidst sobs. "My Eliana," she cried.
Miss M dropped to her knees. "Madam, I'm sorry. I'll never betray you. Sir, you know me. I've worked with you long enough. I'll never do this," she pleaded.
