The time passes quickly tonight. I snuggle up in my hoodie, trying to accumulate some warmth as it is getting colder. After some time, my hands become like ice, and I start to shiver slightly. I am feeling really cold, but actually, I don't mind freezing as long as Hoshi is by my side. I'd freeze forever if it meant he'll be there.
"Are you cold?" Hoshi asks me with a slightly worried tone. He stops and looks at me.
"We can go to my place if you want. After all, I wanted to invite you to a homemade dinner." He looks at me. I can't deny the fact that I'm curious about Hoshi's apartment. I wonder how it looks. Is it as cozy as his hug? Is it messy, like his hair? Is it dark, as his eyes? Does it smell clean and soft, like him? How is it? I hope there's a lot of natural light, and maybe he's got a balcony. I don't know. But what I know for sure is that he's got a roommate.
"But what about your roommate?" I ask him, my voice hesitant. I'm not in the mood for meeting any new people right now, including his roommate.
"It's alright. He's not home tonight." Hoshi smiles. So do you like sushi?"
"I love it!"
"And you're not allergic to cats, right?"
"Of course I'm not!" I giggle happily. I'm excited to see his cat!
After a little bit of walking, we enter a tall, grey building at the edge of the city centre. We take an elevator to one of the higher floors. The apartment complex looks renovated from inside, very fancy, and modern. And when we finally enter his apartment, I can't help but watch it with astonishment. It's huge, compared to mine. It has got a balcony, and huge windows with a beautiful view on the city. The kitchen is basic, but spacious, equipped with all kinds of appliances that my kitchen lacks. It's got a wooden dining table too. That is what I see when he lets me in. When we go further, I can see many closed doors - probably bedrooms, bathroom… and also wooden stairs that lead to the living room. The living room is quite small, with big windows, a gray sofa, some white wooden table and television.
The apartment is very lovely looking. It's bright, there are some paintings hanging on the wall, some cute decorations, and a few plants. Just pretty calm, and clean, just like him.
His cat immediately comes to him, and starts purring. He nuzzles his white brown head against Hoshi's leg, and when I lean over to him, he comes closer to me too. He is very friendly, and just adorable. I can't help but talk to him, telling him how cute he is, even though he can't understand me.
In the corner of my eye, I can see Hoshi smiling. He looks at us with a somewhat pleased expression. As if he was happy with the way I treat Nelson - his cat.
I switch my language to my native one, and continue talking sweetly to Nelson. It's natural for me to speak in my native language while talking to animals, praising their cuteness, but Hoshi doesn't seem to like it as much as I love it.
"Hey, stop! That's not fair. I can't understand you." Hoshi pouts in a joking way. I smile at him, and stand up.
"Your apartment is beautiful." I say as I look around again.
"It's not as nice actually. There shines a lot of sun in the morning from all the huge windows, and it kind of annoys me." He makes a straight face.
"Are you serious??! It must be the best thing ever! I really love sunlight. It kind of fills me with positive energy. I really wish to be here in the morning somewhen!" I say, not even realizing that I'm just admitting that I'd love to spend some more time here, with him.
"I mean, you can sleep over if you want. That way you could see it here in the morning. And it's getting pretty late anyways…." Hoshi suggests right away.I blush slightly at his request. I didn't expect him to suggest such a thing so quickly. Letting me sleep over means he trusts me. It means that he gives me permission to be included in his private life too. I take it as a sign that he actually doesn't mind being closer than we are now.
I look at him all shy and red. I really don't want to bother him by sleeping over, but I'm also really excited at the thought of spending a night with him.
"It is really late, and it's hard to catch a bus at this hour….But I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable, so if you don't want to…" Hoshi says.
"I guess I'm okay with it. But can I cuddle," You "Nelson when I go to sleep?" I remain blushing slightly. He chuckles at my words.
"Of course you can! So shall we eat dinner then?"
.
.
.
Hoshi cuts the sushi and prepares it on the table. It's maki sushi with avocado and mango, and nigiri sushi with salmon.
"It's homemade?!" I say, being all surprised.
"Yeah, I thought I could hopefully eat it with you haha. That's why I asked you out. My intent was to seduce you for dinner. " He laughs jokingly.
"And It's delicious! Where did you learn to make such good sushi?"
"That's a hard question. I've been cooking since I was a little…."
"You cook?"
"I do."
My eyes shine with astonishment. I find guys who can cook very attractive. I can't help but imagine Hoshi cooking something delicious like curry or something. I can see him cutting vegetables, looking all handsome and focused-
I blush at my thought, a bit embarrassed, and continue eating this divine sushi.
We talk, laugh, and steal shy looks. Nelson appears from time to time to ask for a fish. And after a while, my expression turns dreamy, as I lean my head on my hand, and just listen to what Hoshi has to say.
