I quickly returned to my apartment to change my outfit. After taking a bath, I grabbed my bag and retrieved the skill book[magic missile] dropped by the boss monster.
I seated myself on the bed and held the skill book close to my chest to learn the skill. The book glowed and was soon absorbed into my body.
[Normal skill learned: magic missile(E)]
"Now I'll be able to put my mana to some use," I said as I prepared the necessary items to bring with me into the next dungeon.
Today, I planned to level up to a B-rank hunter. For this, my next destination was the most challenging E-rank dungeon, "Lava Golem's Habitat." I packed my things and headed toward the dungeon.
When I arrived, there were many hunters gathered around the dungeon gate.
"Need an E-rank mage for the party!" shouted a hunter in shining armor.
I ignored them all. I don't do well in a party as I'm a solo person.
The guards inspected my hunter license. One of them asked, "Are you sure you want to go in alone?"
"Yes," I replied simply, eager to enter the dungeon without delay.
"Oh boy, you're a brave one," the other guard remarked.
As I entered the dungeon, there was a sudden shift in temperature. This dungeon consisted of nine floors, with the last one ruled by the boss.
[Ding! You have acquired minor fire resistance]
After a few steps, two fire golems attacked me. I dodged their initial strikes, but their shockwave sent me flying.
[You have acquired minor shockwave resistance]
I stood up,as i was immune to pain, and readied myself to charge at them. However, my attacks had no effect. Taking a step back, I cast [Magic Missile] repeatedly, one after another, until the eleventh missile was fired. Each missile hit its target without missing, ultimately killing the two golems.
[Warning:Please be cautious: if your mana reaches 0, user will face extreme exhaustion]
I cast another [Magic Missile] and felt some exhaustion, but then I saw the notification I had been expecting.
[Warning: User's mana has reached 0. User is experiencing extreme exhaustion]
[Due to Infinite Adaptation, mana has risen by 10]
A massive grin spread across my face as I discovered my infinite mana glitch. Although I was feeling slight exhaustion, I knew it would be resolved soon.
[Congratulations! you have acquired minor exuastion resistance]
Due to the sound of [Magic Missile], I saw a horde of golems rushing toward me. I continued casting "Magic Missile" one by one. Although the speed was slower compared to before, it was still fast enough for the golems. Previously, both golems had been bombarded with 11 [Magic Missiles], but now each one was struck by 11.
After clearing the first floor, my level had risen to 12. My mana had also increased to 280, bringing my total mana reserves to 400. I didn't feel any exhaustion because most of it was mitigated by my constantly increasing mana, and the slight exhaustion I had previously felt was completely gone, thanks to the resistance I had acquired.
I left the first floor and descended to the second, which was located below. Due to the noise of their brethren's cries, the golems on this floor were already aware of my presence and attacked as soon as I arrived. I decided to rely solely on my [Magic Missile] for offense, knowing that the more adaptations I gained now, the more profitable it would be for me in the future.
I was constantly spamming [Magic Missile] on the fire golems. As my mana continued to increase steadily, I decided it was time to use my second unique skill.
"I should wait until only one golem is left—for convenience, of course," I thought. "Damn, it's taking longer than expected. I wish I had infinite mana from the start so I could spam 200 [Magic Missiles] on them. Don't be greedy, Zephyr; you'll get there."
I continued to bombard them with [Magic Missiles] until only one golem was left, albeit a half-dead one. Using my [Telekinetic Control], I tried to lift a small pebble, but nothing happened. Then, I attempted to lift a stone about 3 feet in size, which caused slight dizziness that quickly subsided.
[Warning: You are experiencing brain damage]
[Congratulations! You have acquired high brain damage resistance]
[Ding! Focus has risen by 1]
"Haha... hahaha," a joyous laugh escaped my mouth.
Finally, I attempted to lift the golem with [Telekinetic Control]. As I tried to lift the golem, which was far heavier than the 3-foot stone, a notification appeared.
[Warning: User's brain is facing extreme damage. Please, postpone the use of [Telekinetic Control].
[Infinite Adaptation is rapidly increasing the "Focus" to counteract the brain damage]
["Focus" has risen by 3..4....6.....10...]
After waiting for 10 to 15 minutes, the golem was finally lifted off the ground. "It seems the golem weighs around 2300 kg," I thought, glancing at my "Focus."
[Focus:460]
I didn't feel any dizziness or brain damage, as most of it was mitigated by my increasing "Focus," and the remaining damage was quickly resisted by my high brain damage resistance. That's why I did not gain complete immunity. At this point, whether I gain immunity or not,it will not affect me in any way.
Now, onto the third floor, I decided to mostly use [Telekinetic Control].
As soon as I arrived on the third floor, I used [Telekinetic Control] on one of the golems, lifting it into the air and hurling it at the others, instantly killing them. I then unleashed a barrage of [Magic Missiles] on the remaining golems, noticing a small increase in the destructive power of [Magic Missile]. I managed to cast 40 [Magic Missiles] consecutively, which was my limit at the moment.
After the 40th [Magic Missile], I continued to cast them, though at a greatly reduced speed. The horde was slightly larger than I anticipated, so I attempted to use [Telekinetic Control] while casting [Magic Missile]. After a few moments of trying, I heard a notification.
[Due to Infinite Adaptation, you have acquired skill "Parallel Mind"]
I quickly cleared the third floor of the dungeon, and my level has increased to 15. As I leveled up, it became increasingly difficult to raise my experience points.
