Chapter 21: The Calm Before the Storm
Kane and Adara were celebrated throughout the kingdom for their bravery. But amidst the festivities, Kane couldn't shake off the feeling that Malakai was planning something sinister.
One night, as they walked in the castle gardens, Adara noticed Kane's unease. "What's troubling you, Kane?" she asked, her voice soft with concern.
Kane hesitated, then revealed his fears. "I think Malakai is planning a massive attack. We need to be prepared."
Adara's expression turned serious. "I'll speak to my father, the king. We'll increase the castle's defenses and gather our allies."
But as they turned to leave, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was Ahmed, Kane's friend and ally.
"Kane, I've received a message from a trusted source," Ahmed said, his voice low and urgent. "Malakai is gathering his dark forces in the ancient forest. He's planning to unleash a powerful evil upon the kingdom."
Kane's grip on his sword tightened. "Then we have no time to lose. We must gather our forces and head to the ancient forest, now."
