Carefully, he added a selection of roasted vegetables and a perfectly cooked slice of meat to his plate. He glanced at the others, his sharp eyes twinkling with amusement. "The chefs didn't slave over this meal for us to let it go to waste just because you're all caught up in staring contests."
Caroline chuckled at his comment, reaching for the breadbasket. "He's right. Let's enjoy the food, everyone. Amelia, pass me the salad, please."
Amelia blinked as though snapping out of her thoughts. "Oh, right," she said, quickly picking up the bowl and handing it to her mother. She stole a glance at Noah as she did, her cheeks still slightly pink.
