Bam!Bam! The cell door sounded,it was time to wake up, tera had been locked up for a week now , making him miss the final week of the marathon drag assessment. If tera was to choose he would rather sit down and be taken care of in this cell than to go out and to run like his life depended on it. This lockup may have just saved him from disqualification cause there was no way he was going to be able to run. His body felt like a log of wood and he had only just begun recovering, some of his attackers were rich commoners who could afford mutations and a noble and none of them were weak, and he was only a kid 10 years , he actually fought a couple of teens and they didn't leave unscathed, he might have even castrated one of them. The cell wasn't all that bad the bed in the cell was bigger than the bunks he slept on in the dorm, he ate better food here , real food and he was getting treatment from a beautiful young nurse, he couldn't take his eyes of her ,she was one of the most beautiful women he ever saw he didn't grow the courage to ask her name yet. He was planning on doing it today , for a few days now she had cleaned him dressed him , fed him and looked after him , sometimes she did it while humming a song,it was almost worth it, to enjoy such company and be free of that accursed mountain range, he stood up and arranged his bed and tried to arrange his prison clothes in a presentable way , waiting for her to come , he might be young , but he was still a man , who wouldn't want to look good Infront of a beautiful woman, unless they are not in their right senses,
Bam! , his cell door was opened with force unlike the gentle way he was expecting, standing before him was a grumpy guard , I guess I will never see her again he thought to himself, the guards are either here to send him home or take him back to the dorm, he was not one to complain but hasn't his life been too shitty lately,tera was taken through an office building to a big office with a massive black door ,the door slid open on its own and he was dropped like a bag of food by the guard who had carried him on his soldier because he was too slow in walking, he was still weak and tired so he just knelt on the floor,
"Get up" , tera heard a familiar voice and looked up , there sat sergeant Grant, in full uniform, he looked like a General who had waged war on the world in tera's point of view, He stood up and straightened up with a lot of difficulty, " do you know why you are here " Sergeant Grant said, tera kept quiet he didn't know how to respond, neither did he think he was supposed to respond this was one of those situations that you just kept your mouth closed and your eyes on the ground , " look at me boy,after what you have done you are no longer qualified to wear this white uniforms, do you know what it represents " , " you should be expelled" sergeant Grant said , sergeant Grant sighed then spoke again " I am disappointed in you, is there anything you can say for yourself ,before you are sent home " . Tera knew that he needed to say something, and he had to say it now before it was too late, and whatever he will say will decide if he will continue in the assessment or not, the only reason he was getting this chance was because sergeant Grant had taken a liking to him earlier on,
Tera made up his mind and said , you can drop me outside at the gate. I have no home or family, my family died on the space station and they are never coming back, tera was never going back home , no matter how much Marcus was good to him , he couldn't just accept him no matter what. His father grew up without anyone, so could he . He knew he was making a selfish and impulsive decision that he would regret but he has chosen to follow his heart, this was the will of his heart , he had taken the first step in becoming a titan mastering one owns heart without knowing, he couldn't tell but a veteran like Grant could sense the potential to become a titan in him as he got closer and began speaking with more conviction, his will waa affecting the environment in a subtle way only a veteran like sergeant Grant , one of the most decorated titans before the accident that took away his arms and legs. "But before you do can I ask for one favor, a chance to die for mankind in the battlefield, a chance to atone for myself sins and have revenge and die with the people responsible for the destruction of my family" ,Every titan must swear the oath of the white cloak to never harm a fellow human with the power that all of humanity has given to them, they were the peak of what a human being could become in this age, and anyone aspiring to be a titan followed the tenets of the titans from youth, it had become a custom among humans, he may have broken no written rule but he had broken an unwritten rule more binding.
