Amara groaned. She was on the verge of accepting the system's obnoxious offer when Felix suddenly perked up, like he'd just remembered something extremely important.
"Oh, by the way," he said casually, as if this information wasn't potentially life-changing, "I sent a proposal to Elara."
Amara stopped mid-pace, blinking at him. "Wait… you what?"
Felix looked up from his phone, still nonchalant. "Yeah, I sent a proposal. To Elara. About, you know, her talent. She's got potential, and the higher-ups thought it might be a good idea to bring her into Lyselle Media. Nothing to do with this whole Eirik mess, though. Just purely business."
For a split second, Amara felt a wave of relief. Wait, if Elara accepts that proposal, I'm halfway done with this mission. That would be a small miracle, and honestly, she could use a miracle right about now.
"Please tell me she hasn't turned it down yet," Amara said, her voice edged with panic.
