Elara couldn't resist the grin that tugged at the corners of her lips as she walked beside Amara, her arm brushing against Amara's with each step. She could practically feel the awkward tension radiating off her, which only made the whole situation more amusing.
"So," Elara began casually, glancing sideways at Amara, "I guess I should thank you for the kiss."
Amara, who had been studiously avoiding eye contact since they'd left the scene with Eirik, immediately tensed up. "You don't have to," she muttered, keeping her gaze firmly on the pavement ahead of them.
"Oh, but I do," Elara teased, barely suppressing a laugh. "After all, it was my first kiss."
