Amara grinned, leaning down to kiss Elara softly on the lips. "I knew it would be."
Elara's face broke into a shy smile, her cheeks flushed a lovely shade of pink. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, unable to meet Amara's gaze for a moment, and Amara couldn't resist a chuckle.
"Are you blushing?" Amara teased, her hand trailing lazily down Elara's arm. "I didn't think anything could make you embarrassed."
"Oh, shut up," Elara muttered, though her lips quirked up in that unmistakable way that meant she was fighting off a laugh.
"Such sweet pillow talk," Amara said with a grin, pulling Elara closer under the covers. They lay tangled up in each other, basking in the warmth and quiet stillness of the morning. It was rare, and Amara knew better than to take it for granted.
"Are we really going to get this whole morning off?" Amara murmured, brushing her thumb over Elara's cheek.
