Vision paced around the room, his mind swirling with information about Themyscira. Although Paradise Island had certainly opened up and revealed more information to the wider world, it was still mostly an enigma.
From what Vision had gathered from scouting the internet for information about Amazonian Culture, Themyscira and everything in between, the island was more than just a home for powerful warriors; it was a sanctuary, a place of tradition, knowledge, and magic
From what he knows, Themyscira exists in a hidden dimension, shielded from the outside world by powerful magic, making it largely inaccessible to mortals unless invited.
The island's origins are rooted in Greek mythology, with the Amazons being blessed by the Olympian gods to create a utopia for women, free from the corruption and conflict of the mortal world.
However, with Diana's presence in the outside world, Themyscira had naturally revealed more information, but had still remained a fortress.
This lead Vision to think about what the Amazonian's would think about him. First of all, he was a man. Although Themyscira had allowed some men in, mostly members of the Justice League, he was still a man, without any of the feats of people like Batman or Superman.
Secondly, he was a clone, a being created with no past or heritage, and they could potentially see him as massively dangerous due to the power he held.
All these thoughts swirled through his mind, and Vision eventually shook his head, dismissing the worry. Diana believed in him, and if she thought he was ready, then he trusted her judgment. There was no reason to overthink this.
"Okay, Themyscira," he muttered to himself, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Let's see what you've got."
With a thought, he activated the Mind-Gem once again to change his clothes, this time focusing on practicality rather than style. His comfortable jeans and t-shirt morphed into a more suitable outfit for travel:
A sleeveless dark blue tunic with a golden emblem on the chest, matching bracers on his wrists, and boots that were both functional and durable. It was a simple, almost regal look, with just enough flair to represent his powers without going overboard.
Satisfied with his appearance, Vision made his way toward the courtyard to meet up with Diana and go on their trip.
By the time he reached the courtyard, the sun was higher in the sky, casting long shadows from the villa's tall pillars. Diana stood in the center, her back turned as she admired the scenery, wearing her signature Super-Heroine armor.
Vision approached, his footsteps light, yet as he moved closer, Diana immediately turned around, a warm and welcoming expression on her face, "You look ready," she said as she observed, her eyes flickering over his attire.
"I'm as ready as I'll ever be," Vision replied, offering a small grin before he continued, "So," Vision said, a hint of anticipation in his voice, "how exactly are we getting there? It's not like we can just catch a flight."
Diana chuckled playfully as her eyes sparkled with amusement at Vision's question, "No, not exactly," she said. She gestured toward the far end of the courtyard, where a large marble archway stood, its structure covered in intricate carvings of ancient symbols. "We'll be using an Amazonian portal."
Vision's eyes widened slightly, "A portal?"
Diana nodded, walking toward the archway with Vision following close behind, beginning to explain.
"Themyscira is hidden from the world by powerful magic, and only a few people are allowed access. This portal is one of the only ways to travel there directly." She explained.
As they reached the archway, Vision studied the carvings more closely. The Mind-Gem glimmered, and all of a sudden, his mind was flooded with information. With just those carvings, he had managed to completely deconstruct and analyze the symbols and runes of Amazon.
With this, he had deciphered all of their meaning, and could potentially even create new Greek runes and symbols based off of his understanding as long as he put the time into analyzing and understanding them a bit more.
Vision created a clone in his Mind-Scape, sending the clone to organize, analyze and decipher more of the runes, passively allowing him to learn new information and access new power.
He could feel the underlying power of the runes and symbols, and if he understood them, his power would naturally increase. Although he was still adjusting to his new life, more power was never bad.
As he did all of this, only a single second had actually passed in real time. Diana stepped forward, raising her hand toward the center of the arch. "Brace yourself," she said with a smile. "The journey is… unique."
Vision nodded and Diana pressed her palm against the arch, and the air around them shimmered with a golden light. The carvings on the archway began to glow, and the space within the arch rippled like the surface of a pond, the marble dissolving into a swirling vortex of light and color.
Without hesitation, Diana stepped through the portal, her form disappearing into the swirling energy. Vision took a deep breath, steeling himself, and followed her into the unknown.
For a moment, everything was a blur of light and sensation. Vision felt as though he was being pulled in every direction at once, his body weightless as the portal carried him through space and time.
He quickly analyzed all of this, creating another clone to understand and learn the Spacial Magic that was used, to see if he could potentially replicate it using his psychic ability.
Soon, Vision felt himself standing on solid ground, and the scene before him was nothing short of breathtaking.
They stood on a cliff overlooking a vast ocean, the water sparkling like diamonds beneath the brilliant sun. Lush green forests stretched out behind them, the air filled with the scent of saltwater and blooming flowers.
In the distance, towering mountains rose toward the sky. However the most captivating scene was the actual City in Themyscira.
Vision could see it, nestled between the mountains and the sea, the city was a marvel of architecture and natural beauty. White marble buildings with golden rooftops gleamed in the sunlight.
Waterfalls cascaded down the cliffs, their rushing waters feeding into rivers that wound through the city like veins. Bridges of stone and wood spanned the rivers, connecting the various parts of the city in a harmonious flow.
Grand temples were built everywhere, depicting the Gods of Olympus, such as Artemis, Athena and Hera, places of worship, reflection and guidance.
And everywhere, as far as the eyes could possibly see, there were Amazons.
Tall, strong women in gleaming armor walked through the streets, some sparring in open courtyards, others tending to the gardens or carrying out daily tasks.
Their movements were graceful yet powerful, each one exuding an air of confidence and purpose. As Diana and Vision arrived, all of the Amazon's stopped, looking towards the duo and signaling to them, a sign of respect towards Diana, their Princess.
"This," Diana said, stepping beside him with a smile, "is Themyscira."
Vision took a deep breath, his chest swelling with awe as he absorbed the scene before him. "It's… incredible."
Diana's smile softened, her eyes reflecting the pride she felt for her homeland. "It is. There's much for you to learn here, Vision. About power, yes, but also about balance, discipline, and peace."
As Diana said that, she finally lead Vision into the City, allowing him to see the sights in person. Diana led Vision down the winding path from the cliffside, where they had first emerged from the portal.
Vision couldn't help but take it all in, his senses absorbing every detail, his brain analyzing any nook and cranny for potential information, things he can learned.
He watched the Amazons sparring, moving with grace and purpose. He recognized their fighting styles as close to Diana's herself, one which he had mostly copied when scanning online, but never had the experience of actually using.
Still, the Amazons' movements were precise and fluid, wearing their traditional armor as they did so.
"These are my sisters," Diana said as they passed by a group of Amazons who paused in their training to offer respectful nods. "Each one is trained in combat and strategy, yes, but they are also scholars, artisans, and leaders. You'll find that Themyscira is not just a place of warriors, but of wisdom and balance."
Vision just nodded and took it all in, the path widening as they moved forward, leading to the grand heart of Themyscira. Towering marble columns stood tall, supporting the main structure of the island's central palace.
The building rose high into the sky, its golden rooftops catching the sunlight and gleaming like a beacon. Intricate carvings adorned the walls, depicting the legendary history of the Amazons, from their creation by the gods to their battles throughout time.
A sense of awe washed over Vision as they neared the entrance, where two Amazons stood guard, their spears crossed in a symbolic gesture of protection. They bowed their heads respectfully as Diana approached.
"Princess," one of the guards said, stepping aside to allow them entry.
Diana gave them a nod and stepped through the grand doors, gesturing for Vision to follow. Inside, the palace was just as grand as the exterior. The halls were lined with tapestries and statues of the gods and goddesses who had shaped the fate of the Amazons.
At the far end of the hall, a raised dais held the royal throne of Themyscira. And there, seated with an aura of undeniable authority, was Queen Hippolyta herself.
She was striking, her presence commanding attention even from across the room. Her long golden hair flowed down her back, a delicate yet powerful crown resting atop her brow.
She wore a regal, yet battle-ready gown of silver and gold, the armor integrated into her attire seamless and elegant. Her gaze was sharp, and her posture straight, like that of someone who had seen centuries of leadership and conflict.
Yet beneath the regal composure, there was warmth in her expression, especially as her eyes settled on Diana.
Diana stepped forward with confidence, offering a small bow of respect before addressing her mother, "My Queen, I have returned, and I bring with me someone of great importance."
Hippolyta rose gracefully from her throne, descending the steps with the fluidity of a warrior trained over millennia.
Her eyes flickered toward Vision, studying him intently as she approached. It was not every day Diana came back to Themyscira, let alone bringing someone with her, a mysterious man as well. This made Vision's presence instantly intrigue her.
"Vision," Diana continued, gesturing toward him, "this is my mother, Queen Hippolyta, ruler of Themyscira."
Vision bowed his head respectfully, feeling the weight of the Queen's gaze upon him. "It is an honor to meet you, Queen Hippolyta," he said, his voice steady but filled with reverence.
"As long as Diana brings you here, you are a friend of the Amazons my son, do not be nervous, We welcome you with open arms."
