Ethan clicked his tongue as he watched Liam fail to plunge his sword into the monster's heart. He seemed a bit disappointed by the sight. From the beginning of the test, Ethan hadn't moved much, let alone attacked the monster.
The only thing he had done was observe. Like Liam, he was someone who took advantage of opportunities, but his approach was much simpler: he aimed for the monster's heart from the start. In fact, he could have ended the fight at any moment, which would have caused all other candidates to fail since he would have taken all the points.
But why didn't he? All because of Liam. He found him interesting. Not just because of this encounter—maybe it was from long ago.
