Then, both James and Lewis smoothly passed through the gate without any trouble. They were 16 and 15 years old, respectively. If James had delayed a few more years, he might not have qualified to join the academy. Perhaps that's why James's grandfather was so hasty for him to enter the academy. The only words he could utter were, "It's incredible." The wall stretched out, covering a huge area—so vast that he could only see part of it. At the far end, the wall gradually narrowed and disappeared from his sight. To see its full length, he just likely needs binoculars.
Near the wall were only a few large houses, likely guard posts. However, he wasn't sure—how could guard posts like this ensure security? Surely, the actual guard stations must be at the top of the massive wall.
