Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Arrogant Protection of Wife

Jack's second sister-in-law sat in the side hall holding a one month old baby, surrounded by a circle of people watching the child.

Jane went over to greet Aunt Z and several other elders, and was about to go out for a breath when her sister-in-law stopped her.

"Do you want Xiaoxi to hug the child?"

The little baby was wearing a pure cotton jumpsuit with a bunny pattern printed on it. It was wrapped in a white and tender blanket, with a pair of big black eyes staring at her.

Just as Jane was about to refuse, his sister-in-law had already stuffed the child into her arms and said, "Hug him. Look how much he likes you and keeps looking at you."

Unable to resist, Jane had to sit down and stare at the little baby with big eyes.

The little baby seems to really like her, spitting bubbles and giggling, her eyes squeezed into two curved slits.

Jane also smiled, this feeling was wonderful. It turned out that being liked by children can make people feel good.

"Hello. "she whispered to the little baby," my name is Jane, what's your name?"

The second sister-in-law was delighted and said, "He doesn't know what his name is. Even if he did, he wouldn't be able to speak."

The pure gold longevity lock on the baby's neck slipped out, and his sister-in-law helped him put it on. Suddenly, she noticed Jane's neck.

"Huh? Jane is also wearing a safety lock."

Everyone's attention was focused on Jane's neck.

She wore a jade pendant around her neck, a rare and exquisite dragon stone species. It was emerald green and clear, shaped like a safety lock, round and cute, small and delicate.

Jane subconsciously touched her safety lock.

She has been wearing it for a long time, and over the years, the jade had blended with the warmth of her skin.

My sister-in-law liked it and said, "Where did you buy this safety lock? I also want to buy one."

Jane shook her head and said, "I don't know either. It's a gift from someone else."

Second sister-in-law chuckled and said, " Rochester gave it to you. Then I probably won't be able to buy it."

Jane also smiled and sat under the sparkling crystal chandelier, suddenly thinking of the winter when the heavy snow was falling.

New Year's Eve, midnight.

The man guarding downstairs.

Hot hugs and kisses in the snow.

A grand and vast fireworks display that belongs exclusively to her.

In fact, Rochester also loved her once.

The elderly lady loved jade and chats, "Nowadays, not many young people wear jade, do they?"

"This jade is really impressive. Jane had a good temperament and looks good when wearing it, "Mrs. S said to Aunt Z after praising Jane." You are so obedient. Rochester had brought back such a good daughter-in-law for you."

Aunt Z smiled faintly and said, "You're so lucky to have your grandson so soon."

She just casually replied to the scene and unintentionally brought the topic here.

Mrs. S turned around and asked Jane, "Why didn't Jane have a child with Rochester?"

Jane:"…"

Fortunately, Aunt Z didn't want to talk about this matter either. In a few words, she changed the topic and Jane returned the child to her sister-in-law, coming out of the side door of the hall to breathe. Outside was a swimming pool, and surprisingly, there was still water stored this season. When Jane came out, she forgot to bring her coat and felt cold when the wind blew her.

She wanted to go back and retrieve it, but when she saw the dazzling lights and joyful laughter in the house, she didn't want to go in anymore.

The happy atmosphere of family reunion had nothing to do with her.

Sitting on a chair by the pool for a while, the maid from the S family ran over and brought her a cashmere shawl.

"Mrs. Rochester, the wind is strong outside, be careful not to catch a cold."

"Thank you. I'll sit for a while and then go back, "Jane gratefully took over.

The servant quickly left, sitting alone in the yard, feeling quite comfortable without socializing.

However, this sense of ease didn't last long as she suddenly felt a chill on her back and turned to see a seven or eight year old boy holding a water gun staring at her.

Jane had never seen him, she didn't know if he was the child of any guest family.

She thought it was a child's carelessness and didn't say anything, but as soon as she turned her head, another water column shot at her.

Jane turned around, the little boy holding a handgun with a clearly intentional smirk on his face.

"Do you know me? "Jane frowned.

"I don't know."

"Why are you teasing me if I don't know you?"

"If I want to, I'll do it! "The little boy said as he shot her." Who asked you to sit here?"

Jane's back was already half wet, and the temperature in late autumn was cold. The wet cashmere clung to her body, and the chill seeped into her skin.

But Jane didn't take off her cloak, she knew the child would continue to tease her.

She stood up and wanted to leave, but the little boy didn't want to give up. He raised his gun and chased after her, saying, "Do you still want to run?"

Most of the time, Jane was a "submissive" person because she lost her parents, home, was abandoned, bullied, and later adopted by the Z family at a very young age. Living under someone else's care was not easy.

She had been cautious since childhood, observing words and expressions, not arguing, not fighting, not crying, and not making a scene. Even if she was bullied, she would not seek anyone's support because she knew no one would support her.

So always try to avoid trouble as much as possible.

But if the soft persimmons were repeatedly kneaded, they can also burst.

Jane stopped and turned to look at him, "Why don't you run?"

The child didn't understand her voice and was still cheering on the water gun, "Why did I run?"

Jane wrapped herself in a damp shawl and spoke at a steady pace, saying, "Because the water in the pool is very cold, you can run and warm up a bit, and it's not easy to cramp when you fall in later."

"I won't fall in."

The child continued to rub its teeth and claws at her, making a "beep beep" sound from his mouth.

Jane turned her head and looked around.

Unfortunately, there were people down the hallway.

Rochester was standing in the corridor talking to someone. He stood leisurely with his pocket in hand, his gaze casually directed towards the edge of the swimming pool.

Jane frowned and silently withdrew her hand halfway through.

The man next to Rochester eagerly lit his cigarette with a lighter and said, "I have had someone evaluate it, and the return on investment for this project can reach at least 200%, which is a sure bet."

He hyped up his company's projects, and Rochester lazily held a cigarette, listening absentmindedly.

"The loan business of H Bank is not under my jurisdiction, Mr. W. You have found the wrong person."

"What, Second Young Master, you're joking. If you're connected to Brother, it doesn't matter who you're looking for. Besides, H Bank also has half of you. It's up to you to approve a loan."

Rochester didn't respond, his eyebrows furrowed and his gaze fell on the other side of the swimming pool.

Mr. W looked over and smiled, "What, this kid just likes to play with pretty sisters."

Rochester glanced over with a cold expression and said, "Your son?"

"He looks like his mother, but his IQ depends on me. The teacher praised him for his intelligence." President W was very proud.

Rochester's voice was faint and cold: "If you give birth to a child without proper education, are you waiting for me to teach you?"

The man was frozen by the coldness in his words, and before he could react, Rochester had already smoked and strode towards the edge of the swimming pool.

The bear child watched as Jane dared not do anything to him, becoming even more brazen. The water gun aimed at her face and said, "Look at me removing your makeup."

The water had not yet seeped out, and the wrist was gripped from top to bottom by a palm.

"My wife's makeup looks so good, why do you have to remove it?"

Rochester stood in front of Jane, easily controlling the child with one hand, with no warmth in his brown eyes.

"Have you asked for my opinion on bullying my wife?"
