"Humm! I see. This is the reason why ship girls need men as Admirals," Sofia said while drying her body with a dry towel.
After her body was dry, Sofia came out of the bathroom and put on her clothes. The distance between my submarine and the Azur Lane main base was getting closer. My submarine was now above the water's surface and activated the radar to detect surface ships.
This short trip took up to seven days. Diving at a speed of 60 knots with a depth of 500 felt very tiring and boring. To fill the free time, I taught Sofia about SEEEGS and night battles. Sofia quickly mastered it and learned my body's weaknesses with her female instincts. I was very worried about my body's endurance to keep up with Sofia's extraordinary learning speed.
"Well, they need men for their other needs," I replied while putting on my military uniform after taking a shower with Sofia. To save on clean water expenses and additional needs that had not been satisfied, we agreed to do it together without coercion.
During these seven days, my work was too busy to teach Sofia about the importance of a woman's body for a man. As an artificial intelligence with a physical body, Sofia looked like a curious child. Etiquette, language style, and common sense needed to be learned to enter the social circle. I didn't want Sofia to get lost in the wrong life.
"Master, I read a report about HMS Sheffield not wearing panties under her Maid uniform. Can I do that too?" Sofia asked.
"Sofia, if you do something like that. I will avoid you and pretend not to recognize you."
"Moooo… After what Master did, I'm just thrown away like that?" Sofia looked at me with teary eyes.
Uwah! She started to show her acting talent.
"Well, no one would want to be involved in such a strange act."
"Ueeeh… Does that mean HMS Sheffield is a strange ship? Or a pervert?"
"It's not like that, Sofia. There is a special reason why HMS Sheffield doesn't wear panties. Her ship's body is very unique. HMS Sheffield has a different design from other Royal Navy ships. Unlike Royal Navy ships that use brass for their internal frames, Sheffield uses stainless steel for their internal frames. That's why it's a lightship that has different speed, maneuverability, and control from other Town-class."
"I just found out that stainless steel and brass give different performances."
"Yep, they have different densities. Stainless steel has a lighter density than brass. That's been the main reason for Sheffield's performance and uniqueness that previous Royal Navy ships didn't have."
"Umm… Master… What about USS Seawolf?"
"Well, haven't you felt it?" I replied while looking at Sofia's body.
"That's right, why would I question something obvious? For the past seven days I've felt the incredible durability of USS Seawolf," Sofia said while rubbing her stomach and a blush filling her face.
"I-I'm still not satisfied to end it, Master," Sofia continued while smiling at me.
Gleeek…
I swallowed my saliva after seeing Sofia's blushing expression.
"Want to continue?" I said to tease Sofia.
I guess Sofia's training for the past seven days has made her a little addicted to SEEEGS.
Yep, it was my fault.
I should have controlled the sleeping wolf inside me. Doing SEESGS activities for seven days straight was a big mistake for Sofia's development.
"Umm..." Sofia held back the embarrassment on her face and nodded.
After we took the trouble to take a shower together and get dressed, the little flirtation happened again. Is this how a male sailor feels when he misses his partner on the cold night in ship, right?
Beeeeep...
Beeeeep...
Beeeeep...
Suddenly, a warning sign sounded and ruined our mood.
"Tch!" Sofia and I said the sentence at the same time.
We ran to the Control Room and accessed my submarine's main system. Sofia sat in the sonar section while I observed the Tactical Map Operation. My gaze was fixed on the surface radar and the Tactical Map Operation which displayed six foreign contacts.
"Master, there is no contact below the sea surface!" Sofia reported.
Since Sofia had a physical body, she had exited my submarine's network. Sofia had transformed into a girl born from the Wisdom Cube with artificial intelligence knowledge. The knowledge of how to operate the sonar and the submarine system became a small toy for her. My submarine body was under my complete control and my brain was a little tired of operating it.
"Surface radar detected six ships moving towards us. Judging by the speed and formation of the ships forming two lines, it looks very suspicious. Sofia, activate battle station mode!" I ordered Sofia.
"Ready, Master!"
Not far from the sonar chair, Sofia pressed a button to activate battle station mode.
Beeeeep...
Beeeeeep...
The warning sound calling for battle station mode echoed through my submarine, my submarine's main lights turned red and the Tactical Map Operation displayed the ocean conditions based on my submarine's sensors.
The seawater depth was too shallow to dive. That was very detrimental to my position.
"Should we turn around and look for a deep sea route?" I muttered softly.
Bzzzztttt...
"Sea—Wolf—"
"Did—you—hear—me?"
An unknown radio channel tried to contact my submarine. The radio waves were running on an analog channel with a common frequency that could be heard by anyone.
Through my periscope system, I observed the ship approaching my submarine. The ship's shape was very small and slender, a common characteristic for a destroyer. However, I had a hard time recognizing the shape of the ship.
When a unknown ship tries to communicate via radio contact, it shouldn't be a sign of danger. So, I'll reply to the communication contact.
"Haaaaah... This is going to be a tiring conversation."
For some reason, my instincts told me that the ship in front of me was a chatty child.
I changed my radio channel to the general radio wave and joined their communication channel.
"Seawolf here..." I answered their call after adjusting the radio wave frequency.
"Woaaah! Welcome to Azur Lane's main base. We have come to escort you according to the Admiralty Code!" replied one of them.
"The flagship of this Little Beavers formation is me, USS Charles Ausburne. Together with my Fletcher-class sisters, namely USS Fletcher, USS Aulick, USS Foote, USS Thatcher, and USS Spence. We have come to pick you up! Azur Lane's main base is very crowded because we share a base with other factions. So, please do not cause any minor troubles such as crashing into other ships that are docked."
"USS Seawolf to USS Charles Ausburne, orders received. Thank you for escorting me and sorry for troubling you."
"It's not a big deal, Seawolf."
The six ships in front of me are Fletcher-class. The Admiralty Code's order made them escort me to enter Azur Lane's main base. So, my submarine start to surface from dive status.
Urgh, how do I explain this?
Azur Lane's main base has the same coordinates as the Pearl Harbor military base. The rows of ships docked at Azur Lane's main base are divided based on nations and ship types.
As I entered the outermost area of Azur Lane's main base, a warm welcome from dive bombers or "Dive Bombing" planes threw small bombs near my submarine. Luckily, the bombs were only small bombs weighing 500lbs which were harmless. The pattern on the planes had a cherry blossom symbol which could be interpreted as a plane from the Sakura Empire.
"A warm welcome, may I return the favor?" I asked Charles Ausburne through radio contact.
"Ahahaha… It's okay. The Sakura Empire is used to doing such pranks. Our airstrike range is a bit difficult to catch up with. If you have a method that allows us to catch up with that fast aircraft, there's no harm in returning the favor," Charles Ausburne replied with a laugh.
"Alright, I'll chase after it!" I replied shortly.
After closing the communication channel, I loaded the UGM-48 Harpoon into the torpedo tube and targeted the aircraft.
"Well, it doesn't know that this thing is faster than their aircraft," I muttered under my breath.
Bluuuush…
Bluuuurp…
Whooosh…
My UGM-48 Harpoon began to take off and chase after the Sakura Empire's aircraft. It didn't take long for the sound of the aircraft exploding above Azur Lane's main base to be heard clearly.
"USS Seawolf! Was that your doing?" Charles Ausburne's radio contact sounded panicked.
"You said I could shoot it," I replied shortly.
"Y-Yes, but I don't think that would be the case. That craft is the latest technology from the Sakura Empire. I hope they won't cause you any trouble."
After that short message, I could feel someone's gaze watching my submarine.
Well, anyone would be upset if their small craft was destroyed.
In my defense, I was just retaliating against the attack she gave me!
If things get worse, I will drag the USS Charles Ausburne as a witness to this incident.
