Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Lavender was running down the street, cursing herself for waking up late.

It turned out she slept through her alarm.

She nearly fell but luckily she didn't and managed to get onto the bus.

When she got on the bus she noticed Skylar wasn't there and there was only one seat left.

It was the seat next to Kyle. Kyle called her over to sit next to him which she accepted.

They sat there awkwardly for a while. After minutes of silence that felt like hour. Eventually Kyle was able 6 to say a sentence.

"Thank you for taking me to the infirmary. No one would have done it if you didn't."

They fell silent again. Lavender was about to say something but she missed the opportunity since the bus arrived at their school.

She decided to just forget about it and get off the bus.

Once she came out everyone stared at her

The entire time.

She felt a bit uncomfortable but decided to ignore the stares.

Lavender went to the shop since she was feeling hungry.

She didn't know how she would go through her day with everyone looking at her.

Lavender was paying for bread when someone payed for her.

She looked up to see Mark. He was her childhood friend and moved away four years back.

She almost screamed from excitement. He smiled back at her and asked if she was going to look at him the entire time.

Lavender hugged him tightly. Her brown eyes sparkling.

He asked her why she was attending that school.

She flipped her black hair and claimed to have been sent there because she was talented.

Mark scoffed. "Yeah, right. I bet you gave your parents a headache, begging them to come here."

Lavender pouted as they engaged in playful banter.

They went back inside laughing and reminiscing over their childhood days.

Lavender went to her class as Mark went to his.

Harper had made it to school already and called her over.

Lavender rushed over to her. Harper told her about her parents big fight.

It got so bad that they were getting divorced. Lavender listened in.

Harper couldn't go out because of the flying dishes.

Once they stopped she took the opportunity to rush to school.

Lavender was so interested in what Harper was saying she didn't even notice Kyle walking up to her.

Lavender was listening to what Harper was saying when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

She turned her head to see Kyle. She gasped.

He then took out a packet of gummies from his pocket.

"I like you. I can't be with you now but you could wait for me."

Lavender looked at him stunned. Without thinking she responded.

"What should I wait for if I don't like you that way?"
