*Chapter 1: Collision Course*
Alex Glover stepped out of his sleek, black sedan, adjusting his tailored suit. The gleaming skyscraper before him was his latest acquisition, Smith Tower. His business rival, Regina Smith, had underestimated him.
As he entered the lobby, a whirlwind of curly brown hair and determination nearly collided with him. Apologetic eyes met his.
"Sorry!" Diana Smith exclaimed, regaining balance.
Alex's gaze lingered on her flushed cheeks.
"No harm done," he replied, his tone measured.
Diana's eyes narrowed.
"Alex Glover. I should have known."
The tension between them was palpable.
"What brings you to Smith Tower?" Alex asked.
"I'm here to see my aunt," Diana replied, her voice laced with caution.
Alex's interest piqued.
"Regina Smith?"
Diana's expression turned icy.
"Yes."
The air seemed to thicken.
"I see," Alex said. "Well, I'm afraid Regina and I have unfinished business."
Diana's eyes flashed.
"I won't let you bully her."
Alex's smile was calculated.
"Is that a threat?"
Their standoff was interrupted by the elevator's arrival.
"I think we're done here," Diana said, stepping into the elevator.
As the doors closed, Alex's thoughts lingered on the sparks that flew between them.
