Charlotte and Rachel flinched at the door's resounding slam. Charlotte's eyes blazed with annoyance, her voice low and sharp.
"What's wrong with you, Rachel? Why do you always get on Natalie's nerves?"
Rachel raised her hands in defense, her face pale. "I didn't know that happened to her! I had no idea she lost the baby."
Charlotte's glare intensified. "That's exactly the problem. You never consider anyone's feelings. You just speak your mind without thinking."
"I said, I had no idea!" Rachel protested, her voice rising in defense.
Charlotte sighed, shaking her head, her expression a mix of disappointment and frustration.
"Forget it, Rachel. You'll never admit when you're wrong," she said, her words laced with resignation.
With that, Charlotte turned and walked away, leaving Rachel sitting alone in the living room.
"Geesh," Rachel breathed, her gaze trailing Charlotte until she disappeared into her room.
