Natalie's gaze dropped to her feet, her eyes glazing over as she sought escape. But Raymond's words cut through her evasion.
"I'm sorry to say this now, but I guess this will be the last time we see each other, if you eventually leave here." he said, his voice laced with resignation. "Nat, you are... respectfully, a coward."
Natalie's head jerked up, her eyes wide with offense. "What did you say?" she demanded.
Raymond stood firm, his arms crossed, his expression straight. "I said you're a coward. You run away from things. From me, from your grief over losing our baby, from the truth about your feelings."
Natalie spun around, her back to him. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Raymond shook his head, scoffing. "And here we have it." He opened his palms, his voice laced with frustration. "This is the mask you put on, the nonchalant act. This is the fake you."
