Sebastian sat up, lost in thought. "Maybe he was right after all," he mused, Victor's words echoing in his mind.
"Maybe Charlotte won't trust anyone again because of his betrayal."
Sebastian's gaze dropped, his thoughts consumed by the possibility.
"But she tried to kiss me," he continued, his voice whispering. "And I pulled away!"
His face fell as he envisioned Charlotte's reaction when he next saw her.
"I must stay away from her for now," Sebastian resolved. "Giving her space is the best choice."
Just then, Raymond walked in, breaking the silence.
"Hey, I've been calling your name," Raymond said, "but you weren't answering."
He extended his hand for a handshake.
Sebastian shook it, distracted. "I didn't hear you calling."
Raymond clicked his tongue, eyeing Sebastian's bruised knuckles. "I told you not to go hard on him. Look at what you've done to your hand."
