Rachel sighed, cursing inwardly as she narrowed her gaze at the insanely ugly man leaning out of the car window that she thought was Raymond's.
Immediately, she raised her phone to her ear, adopting a loud and firm tone. "I told you, Aunty, he's not showing up!"
The man's eyes widened, startled by her sudden outburst. He hastily retreated, speeding away in his car.
Diane rubbed her temples, sighing, "Alright," she breathed, "let's try again another time." She turned the key in the ignition, and the car roared to life.
Rachel shot her a withering look as she approached the vehicle.
"Now I'll have to come up with some ridiculous excuse for inviting him to Top Haven," she muttered under her breath, already dreading the impending conversation.
