As they walked along the beach, the sounds of distant roars and crashing foliage filled the air. The jungle surrounding them seemed alive with prehistoric creatures, their calls echoing through the humid air.
Nami leaned into Coby, her earlier irritation fading. "This place gives me the creeps. Let's stick close, okay?"
"Of course," Coby replied, keeping his gaze on the towering trees ahead. "But don't worry, I've got you."
Vivi, walking a few steps behind them, smiled softly. Despite the tension with Nami, she appreciated Coby's protective nature. Carue waddled beside her, occasionally quacking nervously as they moved deeper into the island.
Nami then said, "I really feel like the name Little Garden is familiar."
Coby dropped the bombshell, "Well, it is an isolated island in the Grand Line with prehistoric creatures. There are even giants on this island."
Both Nami and Vivi looked at Coby in bewilderment. "G-g-giants?" they said together.
Chuckling, Coby held their hands. Too shocked and scared, Vivi didn't even realize as Coby dragged them forward. Soon, they encountered a massive dinosaur stomping through the jungle, its roar shaking the ground beneath their feet.
The girls clung to Coby's neck, trembling. Coby stepped in front of them, his eyes locked on the beast. "Stay back," he said, readying himself for the fight. The dinosaur lunged, snapping its jaws at him, but Coby dodged with ease. He leaped into the air, landing on the dinosaur's snout.
The beast thrashed, trying to shake him off, but Coby stayed steady. He clenched his fist, increasing his weight to 10,000 kilograms. With a single, powerful punch, he shattered the dinosaur's skull. The massive creature let out a final roar before collapsing to the ground, dead.
As the ground trembled from the fall, Nami and Vivi rushed to Coby, hugging his neck in relief. Before they could catch their breath, a giant figure appeared, towering over the trees.
"Oi, oi! That was my prey!" the giant boomed, but there was no malice in his tone. He wore a horned helmet and had wild blonde beard and a massive axe resting over his shoulder.
Coby glanced up at the giant, who smiled down at them. "But no worries, I can always hunt another. That dino was a good one though."
Nami and Vivi slowly eased their grip on Coby, realizing the giant wasn't a threat. Coby looked at the fallen dinosaur, then at the giant. "We can share it. The thing's big enough for all of us."
The giant laughed heartily, his voice echoing through the jungle. "Aye, that's a fair deal! I'm Red Ogre Brogy of Elbaf! Come, let's eat together!"
Coby nodded, guiding Nami and Vivi as they followed Brogy to a large clearing. Brogy quickly built a fire, using massive logs that he carried with ease. He cut large chunks of the dinosaur meat and began roasting them over the flames.
Nami and Vivi, still a bit wary, watched as Brogy hummed a cheerful tune, clearly excited for the meal. Coby sat with the girls close by, keeping an eye on their surroundings.
Once the meat was cooked, Brogy handed large portions to the trio. "Eat up! There's plenty!"
Coby dug in, while Nami and Vivi hesitated for a moment before following suit. The giant meat was surprisingly tender and full of flavor.
As they ate, Brogy told tales of his adventures, his voice full of life. Nami and Vivi listened, their earlier fear melting away as they realized Brogy was a kind and honorable warrior.
After the meal, Brogy leaned back, patting his belly. "That was a good feast! Thank you for sharing, Coby!"
Coby nodded. "Thanks for the invite." He then quickly made his way back to the ship, returning with several barrels of booze. Handing one to Brogy, the giant's eyes lit up as he took a deep swig.
"Ah, it's been years since I've had a drink like this!" Brogy laughed heartily, clearly pleased.
As they sat around the fire, Nami finally asked the question that had been on her mind. "Brogy, how long does it take for the Log Pose to adapt here?"
Brogy looked at her, his expression turning serious. "It takes a full year for the Log Pose to adjust on this island."
Nami and Vivi went pale at the news. "A year?! We don't have that kind of time," Nami said, her voice filled with disbelief.
Brogy nodded. "I understand. This island can feel like a prison for travelers. But that's just how it is in the Grand Line."
Before they could continue the conversation, a distant rumble echoed through the island. A volcano erupted in the distance, sending a plume of smoke into the sky. Brogy immediately stood up, his cheerful demeanor shifting.
"What's that?" Vivi asked, concerned.
Brogy gripped his axe, his voice excited. "That's the signal for my duel. My friend Dorry and I have been fighting for over a hundred years. Every time the volcano erupts, we clash again."
Coby nodded, understanding the weight of Brogy's words. "Oh, have fun."
Brogy smiled. "Enjoy the feast. I'll be back after the battle." With that, the giant turned and marched off into the jungle, his massive footsteps shaking the ground.
Coby, Nami, and Vivi watched him go, the fire crackling softly beside them. Nami looked at Coby, concern in her eyes. "What are we going to do? We can't wait a year."
Coby pulled Nami and Vivi by their hands, following Brogy's massive footsteps. "Where are we going, Coby?" Nami asked, her eyes narrowing as she noticed Coby holding Vivi's hand too. Vivi, realizing the same, blushed and looked away.
"I want to watch them duel," Coby said simply. "Then, I'll challenge them both."
The girls stared at him as if he had lost his mind. "You're going to challenge giants?" Nami asked, disbelief in her voice.
Coby just smiled, his eyes glinting with excitement. The chance to fight giants—legendary warriors of Elbaf—was an opportunity he couldn't pass up. They were powerful, and he could earn a lot of SP from sparring with them.
They arrived at the battlefield, a massive clearing surrounded by towering trees. In the distance, they saw Brogy standing opposite another giant, Dorry. Both were ready for combat, their weapons gleaming in the sunlight.
Coby released the girls' hands and stepped closer to the edge of the clearing, watching intently as the two giants clashed. Each swing of their weapons sent shockwaves through the ground, the sheer force of their strikes making the earth tremble. Coby's eyes followed their movements closely, analyzing their strength and technique.
The duel was fierce but brief, ending in a draw as both giants collapsed, exhausted but laughing heartily. Coby took that as his cue. He stepped forward, drawing the attention of the two giants.
"Brogy, Dorry," Coby called out. The giants turned to look at him, curiosity in their eyes. "I want to challenge you both. A friendly spar."
The giants exchanged glances, then laughed. "You've got guts, little one," Brogy said, his booming voice filled with amusement. "But do you think you can handle us?"
Coby grinned. "I'll try. Besides, it's just for fun."
Dorry nodded. "Alright, little warrior. Show us what you've got."
Coby stepped into the clearing, positioning himself between the two giants. Nami and Vivi watched from a safe distance, their expressions filled with concern and disbelief.
Luffy and Usopp, who arrived with Dorry looked in amazement, their eyes immediately locked on the scene unfolding before them. The giants who were resting after their battle look at Coby, who stood confidently between them. "Coby, I want to fight too!" Luffy called out, his voice full of enthusiasm.
Coby turned and grinned at his captain. "Next time, Luffy. This one's mine."
Luffy pouted for a moment but then nodded, understanding the situation. Usopp, on the other hand, looked between the giants and Coby, clearly wondering how the young man planned to handle such enormous opponents.
