Coby, Nami, and Nojiko spent the next several hours discussing the logistics, emotions, and potential consequences of their decision. It was a conversation filled with honesty, vulnerability, and a deep understanding of each other's feelings.
At the end of the conversation, a tangible sense of resolve settled over the room. Nojiko, her cheeks flushed with a deep shade of red, averted her gaze, the weight of the decision making her heart race. "T-tomorrow night, come to our house," she stuttered, the words escaping her lips in a nervous rush.
Coby nodded, a serious yet sheepish smile on his face. "Alright. Then let's create the best baby possible," he said, a hint of lightheartedness breaking through the heavy atmosphere.
Nami, standing beside him, couldn't help but punch his arm lightly, her face showing a mix of irritation and affection. "Tonight, I will deliver the wager of our bet. Prepare to eat the greatest dinner ever in the best place in these seas," she declared, and in her perspective, it was so.
In the evening, as Coby made his way to the tangerine grove, he was nervous and excited as hell. The grove itself was transformed, lit by the gentle glow of numerous candles placed meticulously around the area, casting soft shadows that danced with the evening breeze. The full moon hung overhead, a silvery guardian illuminating the scene with its celestial glow, while stars twinkled like scattered jewels across the velvet sky.
At the center of this ethereal setting was a table, elegantly draped with a fine cloth that shimmered under the moonlight. It was set for two, with fine plates and crystal glasses reflecting the flickering candlelight, creating a symphony of light and shadow. The air was filled with the sweet aroma of tangerines and the ocean's salt, blending into a fragrance that spoke of comfort and allure.
As Coby approached, he couldn't help but admire the effort Nami had put into creating this enchanting atmosphere. She stood there, a figure bathed in moonlight, her hair flowing gently in the night breeze. She wore a dress that complemented the night's beauty, its color a deep blue that mirrored the endless sky and night sea, and her smile was the beacon that drew him closer.
"Welcome, Coby," Nami greeted, her voice a melodic tune that resonated with the rustling leaves. "I'm glad you could make it."
He smiled, "Wouldn't miss it for the world," he said, his eyes appreciatively taking in her figure. "So far so good. It might indeed be the greatest dinner."
Nami chuckled, her eyes sparkling under the moonlight. "Just you wait, Coby. The dinner is as special as the setting," she promised, gesturing toward the table with a flourish. Her movements were graceful, every gesture adding to the allure of the night.
Coby took his seat, his gaze still fixed on Nami. "I have no doubt about that. With you as the host, how could it be anything but extraordinary?" His compliment was sincere as it could be.
The dinner commenced, and Nami revealed dish after dish of exquisite cuisine, each more delightful and surprising than the last. The flavors danced on Coby's tongue, a harmonious blend of the sea's bounty and Nami's culinary skill. They talked and laughed, the conversation flowing as smoothly as the wine they sipped.
At one point, Coby raised his glass, toasting to Nami. "To the chef and the enchantress of the evening," he declared, his eyes twinkling with mirth. Nami's laughter filled the air, her cheeks flushed with pleasure from the praise.
The night progressed, and they shared stories of their adventures, their dreams, and their aspirations. The atmosphere was comfortable, the kind of ease that comes from a deep and genuine bond. They were more than crewmates; they were about to become even more, and the connection between them was palpable.
As they enjoyed the dessert, a delicate confection that melted in their mouths, Nami leaned in slightly, her expression turning more serious. "Coby, about what we discussed earlier today…" she began, her tone indicating the shift in the conversation.
Coby set down his fork, giving her his full attention. "Yes, I've been thinking about it too," he replied, his expression matching hers in seriousness.
Nami bit her lip, her resolve evident. "Despite what you are going to experience with Nojiko tomorrow, I don't want that to come between us," she said, her voice steady but filled with an undercurrent of emotion.
Coby nodded, his expression serious. "I want the same, Nami. Nothing should come between us," he reassured her, his hand reaching out to grasp hers gently.
Nami avoided his gaze, her fingers playing with the hem of her dress. "So... before you experience that with her, I want to..." her voice trailed off, her cheeks flushed with a deep red.
Coby looked at her, his curiosity piqued. "Want what?" he prompted gently, encouraging her to continue.
Nami inhaled sharply, gathering her courage. "I-I want you to be your first, so you wouldn't forget me," she mumbled, her words barely audible.
Coby's initial reaction was a stupid grin that spread across his face. He couldn't help it; the admission was expected but still deeply touching. "Wait, how do you know it's my first?" he asked, his tone light and teasing.
Nami shot back with a teasing grin of her own. "Hmph, I can smell you're a virgin from miles away," she retorted, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
Coby raised his nose in the air with exaggerated pride, "I always knew you had a naughty nose." His voice carried a playful lilt, his eyes gleaming with mischief.
Nami's cheeks flushed a deeper shade of red as she feigned hurt, her hand placed dramatically over her heart. "Is this how you talk to a lady?" Her tone was teasing, yet there was an undeniable warmth in her words.
Coby leaned in closer, his eyes locked onto hers. "Only when the lady is as special as you," he replied, his voice dropping to a low, suggestive murmur. The air between them crackled with a playful yet palpable tension, a dance of words and glances that spoke volumes.
Nami's laughter filled the air, light and carefree. "Flatterer," she accused, though the smile on her lips betrayed her enjoyment of the banter.
Nami leaned closer, her breath warm against his skin. "Then let's make this night ours," she whispered, her words carrying a weight of longing and determination. Her eyes were bright, reflecting the flickering candlelight and the depths of her emotions.
Coby's heart raced, his mind a whirlwind of anticipation and nerves. He had never been in a situation like this before, and the reality of it was both exhilarating and daunting. But looking into Nami's eyes, seeing the trust and affection shining back at him, he knew this was where he wanted to be.
With a gentle hand, Nami guided Coby's face closer to hers. Their lips met in a kiss that was tentative at first, a soft brush of contact that sent ripples of warmth through their bodies. Then, as their confidence grew, the kiss deepened, becoming a dance of passion and tenderness.
Around them, the world faded away, leaving only the two of them in their private universe. The candlelight flickered, casting shadows that danced to the rhythm of their hearts. The scent of tangerines and the sea filled the air.
Getting up, Coby swiped his arm on the table, sending dishes and glasses crashing to the ground in a symphony of chaos. In one fluid motion, he lifted Nami by the waist and seated her atop the now cleared table. Their eyes locked. He leaned in, capturing her lips once more, the intensity of their kiss speaking volumes of the unspoken emotions swirling within them.
Nami wrapped her arms around Coby's neck, pulling him closer, her actions a mirror to the longing that had built up inside her. The sound of the ocean and the whisper of the wind through the tangerine trees faded into the background, replaced by the pounding of their hearts.
