Chapter 9 - Tentacle Monster

The creature before Chen Feng was a slimy abomination. Its large, grotesque face had only a single eye, while the rest of its body was composed of four thick, writhing tentacles.

These tentacles swayed ominously in the air, exuding a foul, pungent odor.

A Tentacle Monster.

This was a truly bizarre creature—so strange that no one was certain if it could even be classified as a living being. The only thing known for sure was that it was an exceedingly malevolent entity. Even in other dimensions, it was feared and despised.

For women, this creature was a nightmare-level enemy.

The purpose of a Tentacle Monster was pure torment and abuse. It was known to haunt remote villages and isolated paths, where it would capture and brutalize lone women.

Its tentacles served both as its weapons and as instruments of torment. The creature delighted in using its powerful limbs to bind its prey, subjecting them to unspeakable horrors.

The most terrifying aspect of the Tentacle Monster was the hallucinogenic properties of the sticky substance it secreted. Prolonged exposure to this toxin would invade the victim's brain, corroding their soul until they became nothing more than a mindless slave, driven only by desire.

Even seasoned gold-level professionals would gradually be corroded by long-term exposure to this vile liquid.

A truly terrifying power.

Tentacle Monsters used this ability to control female professionals, forcing them to lay eggs and propagate the next generation of Tentacle Monsters.

Chen Feng's expression turned grim.

He hadn't expected to find such a vile creature hidden within this nursing home, and worse, it was a Bronze-level monstrosity. Compared to the cannon fodder creatures like sulfuric acid worms, this thing had much stronger defenses and terrifying offensive capabilities.

The Tentacle Monster slithered forward, its single eye fixed intently on Chen Feng. Meanwhile, the sticky substance coating its body continued to increase, dripping onto the stone floor and emitting a sickening odor.

Excitement.

This creature clearly saw Chen Feng as prey.

For men, Tentacle Monsters had no special preferences—they simply enjoyed the thrill of the kill. In battle, they would use their powerful tentacles to strangle their prey until they died.

A flurry of thoughts flashed through Chen Feng's mind.

But he didn't hesitate. His right hand moved quickly, and with a swift gesture, a familiar figure appeared in front of him.

A mass of flesh and blood, covered in mud, tumbled forward. A deformed, swollen face and several stubby, writhing limbs intermittently appeared and disappeared on its body.

A Dretch.

These creatures were true agents of slaughter—filthy and malevolent, mindless flesh wrapped in mud, devoid of reason, and driven only by fear and hatred.

They existed solely to destroy.

"Kill it!"

Chen Feng retreated quickly. This was not a battle he could handle directly; the Tentacle Monster's arms were incredibly strong. If it managed to grab him, it wouldn't take long before he'd be suffocated.

Chen Feng's eyes were filled with a murderous glint as he commanded the Dretch. The creature shifted its grotesque form and lunged at the Tentacle Monster.

The Dretch looked like a nauseating, festering mass of flesh, with an incomplete human body and head.

The Tentacle Monster did not sit idle. It lashed out with its tentacles like iron whips, striking the Dretch with a resounding impact. A large chunk of flesh was torn off and splattered across the walls and the tentacles.

Zizi...

As the Tentacle Monster made contact with the Dretch's flesh, its body suddenly began to tremble. The tips of its tentacles were corroded, and blood started to flow from the wounds.

A painful shriek echoed through the hall.

The Tentacle Monster's limbs shook uncontrollably, dripping blood. Its massive pupil was filled with hatred as it seemed intent on tearing the Dretch apart.

Acidic Blood.

As an abyssal creature, the Dretch was built to survive in the harshest environments. Its body contained potent corrosive acid and strong toxins.

Dretches have the following traits: Mindless, Toxin Invasion.

Mindless: Dretches are immune to all mind-altering effects, and unless commanded, they behave like simpletons.

Toxin Invasion: Their flesh contains large amounts of corrosive liquid, with potent corrosiveness and toxins.

Additional Immunities: Fire, Poison.

The Tentacle Monster had clearly underestimated the Dretch. Its toxins were taking a toll on the creature, and within seconds, the wounds began to fester. The pain drove the Tentacle Monster into a frenzy, and it struck the walls with its thick tentacles, producing a thunderous noise.

Chen Feng's pupils contracted as he instinctively hid behind the Dretch. He had no intention of engaging directly; in this situation, self-preservation was paramount.

Summoners excel at this kind of combat.

It's not uncommon for summoners to sacrifice their summoned beasts when necessary.

The Tentacle Monster's body was fragile compared to other creatures. Its constitution made it more susceptible to injury. Now, the viscous liquid on its body increased as it attempted to heal its wounds.

"Stop it! Don't let it recover!" Chen Feng shouted. He had no intention of letting the Tentacle Monster escape; this was a battle to the death.

With his current strength, Chen Feng could summon two minions. However, ordinary sacrifices didn't catch his interest. The appearance of this Tentacle Monster had reignited a deep desire within him.

Though the Tentacle Monster was bizarre and disgusting, it was undeniable that it possessed Bronze-level strength. If he used its flesh as a sacrifice, the chances of summoning a powerful creature would increase significantly.

He needed its corpse.

A sacrifice.

For a summoner who had yet to reach a certain level, the strength of their summoned beasts depended largely on the quality of the sacrifice.

The Dretch was a prime example.

If he were to use cannon fodder like Night Demons or Zombies for summoning, he would likely end up with low-level creatures like worms and skeletons.

Zizi...

The Tentacle Monster felt the pressure and became even more frenzied. Its strength increased, and it almost forced the Dretch into a corner. It managed to use its body's mucus to isolate itself from the Dretch's acid.

Impressive adaptability.

Chen Feng's expression grew darker. This was a critical moment—the longer the fight dragged on, the more it would work against him.

"Charge! Wrap it with your body!" Chen Feng's voice rose sharply.

The maggots on the Dretch's rotting body squirmed. Despite its appearance, it moved quickly and within an instant, it lunged at the Tentacle Monster.

Victory or defeat would be decided in this moment...
