Chapter 4 - Seraphina Velmont

'Man… This place never ceases to amaze me.' Doni thought as he watches multitudes of individuals walk through in and out of a humble establishment.

The building was quite traditional, mostly planked walls, two squared windows on either side, couple of wooden benches sitting in front and a wooden sign moving slightly to the wind that says Adventurer's Guild.

He walks through the front door while holding onto a bloodied brown sack where he faces a familiar building and atmosphere.

Striding across tables and chairs, he was heading towards the front desk, but, he unwarrantedly bumped into an a girl with a quiver around her waist and wooden bow behind her back. When she fell onto the soft carpet, he immediately sighs.

"Did you push my girl?" A wide figure paces through the crowd, standing directly in front. He looks down from his incredible height exerting authority with his intimidation.

Picking his ears, lightly blowing off the earwax, Doni said calmly, "By accident."

Suddenly, the big burly man delivers a right kick towards Doni. With a swift dodge to his left, Doni then calmly walks forward and delivers a light kick at his back leg, causing the man fall on his back.

Ending it swiftly, the onlookers gasp in shock and silent reverence. With loud gossiping and conversations being made about the embarrassed man laying flat on the ground.

With hurried movements, the big man runs away with his girlfriend saying, "I will get you for this!"

Doni on the other hand felt the attention was too much, shaking his head with a deep sigh.

Slamming his elbow down on the desk, he said passionately, "You are one smoking, hot, stunning, beautiful, and amazing receptionist."

Standing behind the desk was a female receptionist. She had long red pony tail hair, black glasses on top of her straight nose, rosey lips, pale smooth skin, a black vest and white shirt beneath it, black suit pants, and red high heels.

Raising her glasses up and giving Doni a cold and professional look, she said monotonously, "State your business."

Stroking his chin, Doni replied, "You don't have to be so cold and formal." As he rests his head on his palms.

"It's my job." With slight irritation running through her tone, Doni notices her indifferent gaze and felt a little taken aback.

With a deep sigh, "Man you are boring. You won't get any potential suitors if you keep acting like this." Giving her a smile while rocking his head with both his palms.

"Here. Smile." Pointing at the edge of his lips with his index fingers.

She softly responds with a light tint of red on her cheeks while turning her head to the side, "It's because my job doesn't let me."

Noticing her change in tone and facial expression, he teases, "Then how about we go on a date together after your shift?"

"No." She sternly rejects him.

"Bummer." He continues, "Alright, I am here to sell a grey hound." He said while lifting his brown sack off the ground and on top of the desk with a loud thud.

"How much can you give me for this, miss pretty." He asked with a smugged grin.

"Well I will have to appraise it." Shining her red eyes, her pupils reshaped into a bright yellow star.

Retracting her ability, she announced, "100 Ereas."

His eyes widen, "Are you sure that this bad boy is worth this little?"

"It's marketprice value for a slightly bloodied grey hound. This is more than slightly bloodied." She responded.

"Tch…"

Leaning closer to her ear, Doni said, "How is yo—" He was cut off when someone yanked him away saying, "Move away loser. No one eyes on my beloved Rebecca."

Observing the tall and robust figure, he noticedly saw a snake tattoo on their wide neck.

"Rebecca. Are you cheating on me for this man?" Doni feigns shock.

'Teasing her every time is the best.' He thought, grinning like a maniac.

"I have no ties with you two esteemed adventurers." She said behind the desk while the two adventurers give death stares to each other. She was gripping her hand firmly, envisioning crushing a coconut.

But when it was about to get heated, a porcelain metal armoured figure paces through the building. Their long blonde hair and light skinned face captures the hearts of many as she paces with heavy steps.

The robust man and Doni both simultaneously stepped aside, allowing the famous and recognisable figure to the front of line.

'Why is she here?!' Doni eyes quaked, his breathes unnaturally with sweat coursing down his hair raising skin.

Rebecca who was more composed changed her tone to a light hearted and sweet girl. "How may the Adventurer's Guild help you today, Lady Velmont?"

'When did you have such a sweet side?' With her sudden change in attitude, Doni felt betrayed and crossed his arms in silence.

Scanning around the vicinity, she stops at Doni with her piercing hawk-like gaze. Turning back, she said to Rebecca with an air of silent confidence, "I am here to claim my bounty."

Rufflin with the papers and accidentally fumbling them, she hurriedly replied, "Yes, we can immediately do that for you."

While she was sorting the things out for Lady Velmont. Lady Velmont turns back at Doni who was sneakily taking his leave with subtle footsteps.

Eying his back, she said calmly, "Doni."

"E—!" Turning his body around instanteously, he rubbed his head feigning ignorance.

He asked with a light smile, "How may I assist you, Lady Velmont?"

"You have a battle with Sir Harmit in three days. Shouldn't you be preparing as of now?" Putting Doni in a tough situation.

'What a nasty bitch.' Squishing his lips together.

"Well I want to hang out with Rebecca. Eh—" He cried internally.
