"Lord Hokage, I really did rescue Genya and the other two!"
Nakahito Kishibe looked at Sarutobi Hiruzen's suspicious gaze, feeling somewhat indignant as he puffed out his chest.
He was the one who chased away those two ninjas, and they were injured. Yet, the Third Hokage still looked at him with doubt, which hurt his feelings.
Because of this, his feelings toward the Third Hokage had faded a bit; his once intense admiration had cooled down.
"I'm just confirming the situation at that time; don't overthink it!" Sarutobi Hiruzen noticed Nakahito Kishibe's thoughts but didn't pay much attention to a minor character like him.
He simply offered a brief reassurance before turning back to Kakashi. "Go call Sarutobi Eisuke over here!"
The area where the incident occurred was under Sarutobi Eisuke's jurisdiction, and regardless of the circumstances, he needed to be reprimanded to understand the importance of selflessness.
Kakashi nodded and left the room.
That night, the Hokage's office was far from quiet, with Sarutobi Hiruzen's angry shouts echoing intermittently.
Meanwhile, Genya slept soundly. He woke up according to his biological clock and started putting on weights, preparing to train with Hikari.
"Genya, the village is unstable right now. You should rest at home for a couple of days before going out!" Uchiha Kinya came out and reminded them.
In his view, Konoha was not safe at the moment. It would be better to wait until the people from the Hidden Cloud Village left before going out, even if it meant delaying for two days.
"Dad, it's fine. Everyone in Konoha is on high alert now. Those from the Hidden Cloud have already failed, so they won't attack easily!" Genya gave his father a reassuring look, signaling him not to worry.
Then, without waiting for his father to say more, he took Hikari and left the estate, heading outside.
"Were you attacked last night, Genya-sama?" As soon as they exited the estate, Hikari's somewhat heavy voice rang out, filled with curiosity.
"Uh?" Genya, who was running ahead, was taken aback and turned to look at Hikari, asking curiously, "How did you know?"
"I sensed a murderous aura when you returned, Genya-sama. Although it was faint, I could easily detect it since I've learned medical ninjutsu!" Hikari didn't say much, but she pointed out the reason directly.
Actually, she wanted to ask about it last night, but seeing that Genya didn't seem inclined to talk, she held back.
Now that it was just the two of them, she couldn't contain her curiosity any longer.
Can medical ninjas sense even the faintest murderous aura?
Genya pondered for a moment, realizing that it would be best to clean the murderous aura with chakra after killing someone. He needed to be careful and cautious until he grew stronger.
Facing Senju Hikari's searching gaze, Genya finally spoke, "Yes, I was attacked, but I killed those people too!"
A fierce glint flashed in Genya's eyes as he said this.
Hikari's expression dimmed slightly; she hadn't been able to help Genya during this crisis.
"By the way, take this key. There are two experimental subjects in the basement of the hospital building that might help with medical techniques!" Genya casually tossed a key to Hikari. "Remember to destroy everything after you're done, leaving no trace behind!"
Hikari was taken aback at first but quickly realized what Genya meant by 'experimental subjects.' She tightly grasped the key, knowing it likely contained the bodies of the Cloud Shinobi.
"You two little rascals are up a bit early today!" Just then, Might Guy, doing a handstand while running, caught up to them, a broad smile on his face.
"Why are you still training today? Aren't you supposed to be on a mission?" Genya squinted at Might Guy.
Might Guy looked confused. "What mission? I don't know about any mission!"
"You don't know?"
It was strange that, given such a major incident in Konoha, they hadn't called Might Guy.
Was the Third Hokage really that dismissive of Might Guy?
Was it because of his lack of talent in ninjutsu that he wasn't taken seriously?
As they continued running, Might Guy scratched his head, puzzled, and quickly caught up, dismissing everything else from his mind.
It had to be said that Might Guy's carefree attitude allowed him to excel further in taijutsu.
After training, Genya finished breakfast and headed straight to the security department of the merchant association.
Upon entering, he overheard some people discussing the events of last night—the Hyuga clan had been attacked by Cloud Ninja and fought back. They were debating how the Third Hokage should negotiate with Cloud to make them pay.
As a proud Uchiha, he naturally believed it was Cloud's fault and that they should be held accountable.
However, they didn't know that the Third Hokage might compromise for the sake of his own rule.
"Uncle Shin, starting today, take a few people to protect my father. We almost got attacked last night!" Genya thought to himself, feeling a bit sentimental.
If he hadn't waited for his father yesterday, his father might have really been in danger. He needed to be more cautious in the future.
"Huh? What happened?" Uchiha Shin frowned, quickly asking for details.
Genya briefly recounted last night's events, which left Uchiha Shin and the others shocked. They all clamored to seek justice from the Third Hokage.
But Genya managed to calm them down.
They had no evidence, and the Cloud Village wouldn't admit anything.
Hokage Office!
In the center, there was a large square table where Hokage Sarutobi Hiruzen faced off against the representatives of the Cloud Village, the atmosphere tense and charged.
The mood was very serious.
Hiruzen's expression was cold as he puffed on his pipe, lost in thought.
Next to Hiruzen sat Konoha's advisors, Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu, both known for their wisdom and cunning.
Standing behind them were Kakashi, Uchiha Shisui, Sarutobi Asuma, and several elite Jonin. However, due to special circumstances, no one from the Hyuga clan had appeared.
Across from them, the representative of the Cloud Village was the Raikage's most trusted ninja, Dodai. He looked serious as he stared at Hiruzen, while behind him stood the elite Jonin from Cloud Village, ready to fight if provoked.
"Dodai, what do you mean by attacking our Konoha clan under the guise of peace talks?" Hiruzen broke the silence first.
"Third Hokage, I don't understand what you mean," Dodai frowned, feigning ignorance. "I wanted to ask you if you've seen the few missing ninjas from Cloud Village. They went out last night to explore Konoha but haven't returned. I wonder what happened to them!"
"Searching? Your ninjas broke into the Hyuga clan and tried to kidnap the Hyuga heir?" Hiruzen looked at Dodai, who was playing dumb, and nodded.
"Kidnapping? Impossible! Where are they?" Dodai asked calmly. "I came personally to inquire about them. Perhaps they just got lost!"
"They were discovered by Hyuga Hiashi and killed on the spot!" The Third Hokage's tone weakened a bit as he spoke, and at that moment, two people brought in the corpse of the Cloud ninja killed by Hizashi.
"Dead?"
Upon hearing this, Dodai's eyebrows shot up. He didn't even look at the corpse and directly questioned, "Did you kill my Cloud ninjas?"
