"Big brother, wake up, wake up!"
After handling everything, Genya returned to the location of the previous battle. He placed the blood-stained kunai into Nakahito Kishibe's hand and gave him a couple of slaps on the face.
Though Genya's voice was childish, his slaps were not gentle.
*Cough, cough.*
Perhaps there was still some electrical current running through Nakahito Kishibe's body, as he twitched instinctively, his eyes blurry. "Wh-what happened? Right, that... that..."
As he was still disoriented, he locked eyes with Genya.
The confusion in his eyes gradually turned into a blank stare.
"Who are you?" Genya asked, trying to confirm whether he was under hypnosis.
Nakahito Kishibe replied dully, "ANBU, Nakahito Kishibe!"
"Nakahito Kishibe!" Genya repeated his name before giving a subtle suggestion. "You saw injustice and drew your blade to help, bravely fighting those two Cloud Village ninjas. In the end, they were no match for you and fled. They ran towards the outskirts of Konoha."
Next, he planned to make Nakahito Kishibe testify that the missing Cloud ninjas had nothing to do with him.
"I saw injustice, drew my blade to help, and in the end, those two Cloud ninjas ran away... I saw injustice..." Nakahito Kishibe repeated blankly, as if trying to engrave the information into his mind.
Genya then filled in some gaps, ensuring Nakahito Kishibe would remember everything clearly.
Uchiha Kinya watched his son's actions, his eyes filled with surprise. *Is this genjutsu?*
And so, Genya continued to implant information into Nakahito Kishibe's mind.
Suddenly!
Through the power of his Dual Pupil, Genya noticed a figure quickly approaching from a kilometer away, moving at high speed.
It seemed someone had noticed the disturbance here and was rushing over.
After making sure everything was in place, Genya released the hypnosis. The tomoe in his eyes faded, and he returned to looking like a gentle, innocent boy.
"Big brother, wake up!" Genya tapped Nakahito Kishibe's head again, his tone still soft and innocent.
"Huh?"
As Genya called out, Nakahito Kishibe opened his eyes, looking a bit dazed. "What... what happened to me?"
"Big brother, did you forget? You drove away the bad guys! You were chasing them when their ninjutsu hit you, and you passed out!" Genya's voice remained sincere, addressing the still-confused Nakahito Kishibe.
"That's right, there were ninjas who sneaked into Konoha and attacked the villagers!" Nakahito Kishibe suddenly slapped his forehead as he remembered. "When I was chasing those two ninjas, I got hit by a lightning ball. Were they from Cloud Village?"
Everything clicked into place.
The ones skilled at using lightning-style jutsu were the ninjas from the Land of Lightning, and it just so happened those people were in Konoha.
"Little kid, are you and your father hurt?" Nakahito Kishibe asked, looking at Genya and Uchiha Kinya.
"No, we're fine. If it weren't for you, big brother, arriving just in time, my father and I might have been in serious trouble!" Genya shook his head, his words filled with admiration for Nakahito Kishibe.
Nakahito Kishibe was clearly convinced and seemed a bit smug, agreeing with Genya's statement.
"It's good that you're not hurt. I'll take you home first, and then I need to report today's incident to Lord Hokage!" After a moment, Nakahito Kishibe snapped back to his senses and quickly got up, preparing to head to the Hokage's office, unsure if Lord Hokage was there.
Genya, however, just nodded, a slight smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.
No need for you to report it. The person is already here.
At that moment, a dark figure swiftly descended from a wall.
Who could it be?
Genya focused his gaze, his eyes narrowing.
White hair, a black mask, and an eye covered by a Konoha forehead protector.
It was his first time meeting this person, but he felt a deep sense of familiarity. It was Konoha's genius, Hatake Kakashi!
He hadn't expected this incident to catch his attention.
"What happened here?" Kakashi looked around at the scene and then at Nakahito Kishibe, who was also from the Anbu, asking for an explanation.
Today, he had been assigned to monitor the Jonin from Kumogakure (Hidden Cloud). Noticing signs of a fight in this area, he had come to check it out.
He hadn't expected to see this.
"Kakashi-sama!" Nakahito Kishibe immediately stood at attention and said seriously, "These two were attacked by enemy ninja, but luckily, I happened to be passing by and saved them!"
Right now, Nakahito Kishibe didn't dare mention in front of Genya and Uchiha Kinya that he was following orders from the Third Hokage to track them. He could only say he was just passing by, but the rest matched what Genya had communicated.
With that, he briefly recounted the events and the direction the enemy ninja fled.
Kakashi nodded. With his sharp mind, he could easily deduce that Nakahito Kishibe was assigned to keep an eye on Uchiha Kinya, though he didn't mention it out loud.
Nevertheless, this indirectly cleared any suspicion from Genya and Uchiha Kinya.
Still, he was curious.
"Who were they? Do you have any idea?"
Nakahito Kishibe thought for a moment before responding, "They were all dressed in black and had their faces covered, but judging by the Lightning Release ninjutsu they used, they should be from Kumogakure."
Kumogakure?
Kakashi's single visible eye narrowed as he looked toward the resting place of the Kumogakure delegation, his expression dark and cold.
Even though they were assigned to monitor the Jonins, some Chunin weren't under surveillance, which had given them an opportunity.
And now they had tried to target members of one of Konoha's prominent clans.
Could it be that Kumogakure had no intention of negotiating peace?
No, he had to inform the Third Hokage immediately so they could come up with a countermeasure.
"Kishibe, you take these two home first. I'll go report to Lord Hokage!" Kakashi nodded, indicating for Kishibe to escort Genya and his father back while he headed to inform Sarutobi.
However, just as Kakashi was about to report to the Third Hokage, distant sounds of battle echoed nearby.
In the stillness of the night, the sounds carried far.
The group paused, surprised; although faint, they clearly heard it.
Genya turned to look toward the source of the noise, which was coming from the Hyuga clan's location.
It seemed another team of ninjas had engaged in battle.
Kakashi leaped onto a tall building, frowning as he gazed into the distance. He said gravely, "This is bad; it's coming from the Hyuga clan!"
Things didn't feel right.
"It's not safe here; hurry home!" Kakashi urged again, darting across the rooftops and disappearing into the night sky in the blink of an eye.
Genya understood he was headed toward the Hyuga clan. It looked like there would be some excitement to watch tomorrow.
Would Lord Hokage make the decision to abandon the Hyuga clan members again? If he really did, it would be interesting.
And what decision would the Hyuga clan make?
"Let me escort you both home!"
While Genya pondered this, Kishibe approached, his face filled with righteousness.
Although injured today, he still contributed to the village.
