As Rebecca entered the classroom, all eyes turned to her, mesmerized by her transformed appearance. Her deep blue dress with flower petals design seemed to shimmer in the light, and her long, raven-black hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall. Her radiant smile and confident demeanor commanded attention, and even the teacher couldn't help but stare.
Elena, seated in the front row, felt a surge of jealousy and anger. She had always been the center of attention, and now Rebecca was stealing the spotlight. Elena's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with schemes to bring Rebecca back down.
Rebecca, oblivious to the whispers and stares, took her seat, her eyes scanning the room with a newfound sense of purpose. She noticed a few familiar faces, including Thomas, who looked just as handsome and charming as he had in her past life. But this time, Rebecca felt no flutter in her chest. She had learned her lesson and was determined to focus on her studies and personal growth.
As the teacher began the lesson, Rebecca listened intently, absorbing every word. She was determined to make the most of this second chance and create a better future for herself.
Meanwhile, Elena seethed with resentment, her mind plotting her next move. She couldn't let Rebecca outshine her without a fight. Little did Elena know, Rebecca was no longer the naive, timid girl she once was. This time, Rebecca was ready for whatever challenges lay ahead.
As the class dismissed, Rebecca lingered, gathering her belongings with a sense of calm. She knew Elena wouldn't let this opportunity pass without striking. Sure enough, as Rebecca turned to leave, Elena appeared beside her, a saccharine smile plastered on her face.
"Rebecca, darling, I must say, you look...different today," Elena said, her voice dripping with malice. "I'm not sure what's gotten into you, i though you hated ,colors like this ,they are deep and carry no feminity, you had said."
Rebecca smiled sweetly at Elena her eyes sparkling with amusement," such i had said in the past dear sistet, but i mostly think this color is very beautiful ,and is accordingly with my skin color."
Elena's smile faltered for a brief moment before she regained her composure, but Rebecca's confidence only seemed to irk her more. "Well, if you think so," she replied coolly, crossing her arms. "But you know what they say—fading into obscurity is just a shade away."
Rebecca chuckled, unfazed by the jab. "Oh, Elena, you speak words that i don't understand ,i would love to stay back and chat ,but i have other things to do."
Rebecca walked passed Elena, her shoulder lightly brushing against hers, she walked out of the class into the corridor ,As Rebecca stepped out of the classroom, the hallway buzzed with murmurs and curious glances. She could feel the stares of her classmates, but this time, they didn't unnerve her. Instead, they fueled her resolve. She was ready to take charge of her life, to rewrite her destiny, and to not let anyone, especially Elena, define her worth.
The air felt fresh against her skin, invigorating her spirit, as she walked through the corridor. She could hear whispers trailing behind her, but instead of feeling self-conscious, she found strength in their words—some envious, some bewildered, but all absorbing her transformation. Today, she was not the invisible girl trapped under the weight of her sister's expectations. Today, she was Rebecca—an independent woman on a mission.
Her heart raced as she approached the courtyard where the students often gathered during breaks. So many memories flooded back: the moments of laughter, the secret meetings, the budding friendships she had all but sacrificed out of fear of angering Elena. But things were different now. This was her time to shine.
As she entered the courtyard, she spotted Thomas leaning against a wall, chatting with a group of friends. Although her heart had once fluttered at the sight of him, now she felt nothing but clarity. He was charming, yes, but that charm had masked a cruel heart—one that had betrayed her in her past life. She steeled herself and walked over, fully intending to show the kind of confidence that had eluded her before.
"Rebecca!" Thomas called out, flashing that disarming smile of his. "You look...amazing. I don't think I've ever seen you dressed so elegantly before."
"Thank you, Thomas. I decided it was time to express myself a little more," she replied, tilting her chin up ever so slightly. "How have you been?"
"Busy with studies, you know," he replied, brushing a hand through his perfect hair. "But I must say, you've certainly caught everyone's eye. You're becoming quite the sensation around here."
"Just trying to be my best self," Rebecca said, maintaining her smile but staying aware of the underlying tension. "You know what they say—change is inevitable, and it's for the better."
Thomas laughed lightly, but Rebecca could see his eyes narrowing in suspicion, as if he sensed something was different about her. A small part of her reveled in.
"I would love to stay back and chat ,but i have other things to do " Rebecca said as she sighted Elena walk ,that was her aim ,she was sure Elena had seen her speaking with Thomas, and that was more than enough to rile her up.
In her past life, she and Elena had both crushed on the Stupid Prince, she had married him because of her superior birth , she was the official wife, but Elena had used deadly means to get him ,even while he was married to her, in this life ,Rebecca only planned to mess with the duo that ended her life ,she was going to make them pay so dearly but everything was to be done ,a step after the other.
Rebecca walked away from the courtyard but she could still feel Elena's daring glare, she could only smile to herself,if Elena could play dirty and get away why couldn't she?
Rebecca ended up at the school garden
