Glossary

A glossary page solely dedicated to the power system of the novel.

This would make keeping track of such a complicated system of abilities, easier for me as the author and readers alike. Rather than going through the fuss of going back to chapters just to remember what a specific category of the power system does, this glossary holds every relevant information summarised to prevent confusion.

Power System:

Shinkoku no Dō(神刻の道, Path of Divine Etchings)

This system revolves around Reitō (霊灯, Spirit Lanterns), metaphysical "lanterns" embedded in a martial artist's soul. These lanterns shine brighter as one masters their art, channeling unique powers called

Enshō (炎章, Flame Seals). Fighters carve their strength into reality through their mastery of Shindō (震道, Quaking Paths), esoteric techniques imbued with raw spiritual force.

1. Reitō (霊灯) - Spirit Lanterns:

- A spiritual core that acts as the source of a fighter's energy.

- The brightness and color of the lantern reflect one's level of mastery.

2. Enshō (炎章) - Flame Seals:

- Unique sigils burned into a fighter's soul through intense training, representing their powers.

- Each Enshō is personal and grows stronger with experience.

- They are categorized into three types:

- Hōka (放火, Ignition): Offensive abilities that destroy or disrupt.

- Seika (静火, Quiet Flame): Defensive or restorative powers.

- Yūka (幽火, Phantom Flame)**: Instinct or speed-based techniques.

3. Shindō (震道) - Quaking Paths:

- The martial art style one follows to master their Reitō.

- Each Shindō has a unique Kiryū (気流,

Energy Flow) that determines how energy moves through the body and into the world.

Techniques

Enshō Techniques are divided into three categories: Hokā, Seika, and Yukā, each with its own unique set of abilities that martial artists can learn and master. Unlike Shindō Techniques, which require Kiryū (energy flow), Enshō techniques do not rely on it, focusing mostly on physical skill. This is common knowledge amoung students

Rankings and Progression:

Reitō Stages:

The power level of a fighter is determined by their Spirit Lantern's brightness and stability.

1. Hajimari no Hi (始まりの灯, Flame of Beginnings)
