————————-
Ali walked toward the auction building, his ears attuned to the sounds of gunfire and the tortured screams of pain echoing from within. His gaze lifted to the second floor, where a massive hole gaped in the building's structure-a result, no doubt, of the giant ghoul who had torn Ali to shreds earlier.
As Ali continued his approach, he stopped in his tracks, hearing the sound of a vehicle approaching rapidly from the right. Turning his head, he spotted a CCG truck barreling toward him, its exterior riddled with bullet holes and smeared with blood. A hooded ghoul clung to the roof of the truck, his red Bikaku pierced through the roof, directly into the skull of the now-dead driver, whose lifeless foot still pressed down on the gas pedal, sending the truck careening out of control.
The truck slammed into a parked car, sending the ghoul on the roof flying into the air, his Bikaku trailing behind him. The hooded ghoul's eyes locked onto Ali, who stood calmly with his bloodied longsword resting over his shoulder. With a battle-hardened instinct, the ghoul twisted mid-air, raising his Bikaku above his head, aiming to bisect Ali in one swift move.
But Ali remained unfazed. He calmly tightened his grip on the handle of his quinque, waiting until the last possible moment before swinging his blade with precise timing. With a single, effortless movement, he deflected the incoming attack. The ghoul's eyes widened in shock, realising the human had not only deflected his strike with ease but was already shifting his stance with incredible speed and precision.
SLASH! SLASH!
Before the ghoul could even comprehend what had happened, Ali struck twice in quick succession. The first blow severed both of the ghoul's legs, sending him tumbling helplessly through the air. The second strike cleanly cut through half of the ghoul's Bikaku, leaving it useless. The hooded ghoul crashed to the ground in agony, screaming as he writhed in pain, dragging his crippled body across the ground, desperately trying to escape.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAH!" the ghoul wailed, his voice filled with pure anguish as he struggled to move without his legs, his once-deadly Bikaku now reduced to a pathetic stump. But Ali showed no mercy. With a casual flick of his wrist, he tossed his longsword high into the air. The red quinque spun several times before coming down with deadly accuracy, its sharp tip embedding itself directly into the ghoul's skull, silencing his cries forever.
Ali calmly walked over to the motionless corpse, retrieving his sword with a swift motion. He held the bloodied weapon in his right hand, his eyes already scanning the entrance to the auction building.
The open doorway loomed before him, the sounds of battle still raging inside. He took a deep breath, then without hesitation, his powerful legs tensed, muscles bulging as he sprinted toward the entrance, charging headfirst into the chaos with no regard for the dangers that awaited him.
The moment Ali entered the auction hall, he instinctively sidestepped to the left, narrowly avoiding three massive green Kagune that smashed into the floor where he had just been standing. His eyes immediately locked onto the source of the attack-four hooded ghouls, all of them with their ghastly powers on full display.
The ghoul who had launched the attack had three enormous green Kagune extending from its back. Beside it stood another ghoul, with a single wing-like Kagune protruding from the right side of its body. The third ghoul had a Kagune wrapped around its arms and shoulders like armour, giving it a bulky, intimidating appearance. The final ghoul hovered in the air, supported by a long red Bikaku that anchored itself to the ceiling while it aimed an assault rifle directly at Ali.
For a brief moment, the four ghouls and Ali stared each other down, the tension in the air palpable. But Ali's eyes sharpened as he released a wave of killing intent so potent that it sent a shiver of fear through all four ghouls. In that fleeting moment of hesitation, Ali made his move.
In a blur of speed, Ali dashed toward the ghoul with the armoured Kagune, his movements so swift that bullets and Ukaku shards fired at him missed their mark, striking the ground where he had been just moments before. Within three seconds, Ali had closed the distance, now too close for the ghouls to fire without risking hitting their own comrade.
The armoured ghoul, swung a massive fist encased in Kagune at Ali, the appendage so large it seemed impossible to dodge. But Ali's grip on his sword tightened, black veins snaking across his arm as he channeled his strength. With one fluid motion, he swung his longsword into the oncoming attack. The red blade cut cleanly through the ghoul's massive fist, severing half of it before continuing upward, decapitating the ghoul in a single, brutal strike.
The headless body crumpled to the floor, its demise shocking the remaining three ghouls, who had just witnessed their comrade-armed with the most durable Kagune among them-fall in a matter of seconds. Ali wasted no time.
Before the armoured ghoul's head even hit the ground, he had already moved on, charging toward the next closest threat: the ghoul with the three green Kagune.
Sensing the imminent danger, the green Kagune ghoul lashed out with its tendrils, trying to keep Ali at bay. At the same time, the winged ghoul fired a volley of Ukaku shards in a desperate attempt to assist. But Ali was already prepared. With impeccable timing, he deflected two of the Ukaku shards with his sword, redirecting them into the oncoming green Kagune, disrupting its attack.
The final green tendril that came his way was easily sliced in half by Ali's blade as he closed the distance in an instant.
The green Kagune ghoul, a young woman beneath her hood, barely had time to react. Her terrified eyes widened as she looked up at the red longsword descending toward her.
SLASH!
The blade cut through her body with terrifying precision, splitting her in two from the head down. Her bisected corpse collapsed to the ground in a grotesque heap, painting the floor with blood and gore.
Ali turned his attention to the last two ghouls, both of whom now fully understood that they were no match for the monster in human form before them. Their strongest close-combat fighters had been cut down in mere seconds, and their resolve crumbled
'I shouldn't waste any more time on foot soldiers,' Ali thought to himself, his expression unreadable.
Without warning, he hurled his longsword at the ghoul with the assault rifle. The weapon flew through the air with blinding speed, embedding itself deep into the ghoul's chest and pinning it to the wall. The ghoul thrashed wildly, trying in vain to dislodge the blade, but its movements grew weaker as its life force faded.
The last remaining ghoul, now desperate, spread its wing and fired off shard after shard of Ukaku at Ali in a futile attempt to stop him. But Ali was already in motion. He lunged toward the headless corpse of the armoured ghoul, lifting the body and using it as a shield to block the incoming projectiles. The Ukaku shards buried themselves in the dead ghoul's body, unable to reach Ali, who continued his relentless advance.
Once he was close enough, Ali dropped the corpse and lunged forward, his hands covered with black veins. He thrust both arms into the winged ghoul's chest, his hands piercing through its flesh and out its back. With a mighty heave, Ali pulled in opposite directions, tearing the ghoul's body in half with brute force.
The ghoul's bisected remains slumped to the ground, leaving Ali standing over the carnage with bloodied hands raised in the air. He glanced around at the destruction he had wrought. The ghoul pinned to the wall had finally stopped moving, the sword having crushed its heart.
Ali calmly walked over to the wall, leaping up to retrieve his sword from the ghoul's chest. With a swift motion, he yanked the blade free, wiping it clean of blood with a practiced flick of his wrist. As the lifeless ghoul's body slumped to the ground, leaving a trail of blood down the wall.
