Two months had passed since Mila's relocation to Singapore, but the memory of the mysterious black BMW and the odd encounter at the airport still lingered in her mind. Admits the chaos of her hectic life, she had unintentionally pushed thoughts of Chad to the back of her mind and didn't contact him since that day.
Completing her classes for the day, Mila was busy packing her belongings when her phone suddenly rang. She took it out of her bag, she saw Anna's name displayed on the screen, prompting her to answer immediately.
"Hey Anna...Yes, of course, I miss you," Mila exclaimed, trying to keep up with Anna's seemingly nonstop chatter on the other end. Suddenly Mila's voice rose in volume. "YOU WHAT?! Yes of course, how can you even ask that?" Mila replied.
"Okay, when will you arrive? Tomorrow? That's excellent! Yes, I'll meet you at the airport," Mila continued. "Okay, love you too. Goodbye sis."
Mila felt a rush of joy knowing that Anna, was coming to visit. Even if it was for work, it didn't matter. Mila longed for their reunion and hoped they would have the chance to spend some quality time together and catch up on everything. Mila had countless questions swirling in her mind, especially regarding the night she disappeared.
The next day, Mila woke up early, eager to pick up Ann from the airport. She quickly grabbed her handbag and car keys, rushing down the stairs of her apartment building to the car park. As she pressed the remote button to unlock her car, she felt that same strange sensation she had experienced that day at the airport. She looked around, trying to spot anything out of the ordinary, but couldn't find anything. Shrugging off the feeling, she hopped into the driver's seat, starting the engine. Time was of the essence - she couldn't afford to be late for Anna.
Driving towards the Airport, the unsettling felling lingered, refusing to wane. Mila found herself waiting at a red traffic light, stealing glances in her rearview mirror. To her horror, she noticed ominous sight of a black BMW closely trailing behind her. Panic surged through her veins, causing her heart to race. The light turned green, and she stomped on the gas pedal, trying to outpace her pursuer.
With adrenaline coursing through her, Mila maneuvered her car with agility, expertly navigating the twists and turns of the road. the BMW persisted, doggedly keeping pace. The car chase seemed straight out of a movie, surreal and terrifying all at once. As Changi Airport came into view, Mila made a sharp turn, entering the airport's property. Glancing at her rearview mirror one last time, she realized the BMW had vanished into thin air. She immediately slowed down, taking deep breaths to calm her racing heart.
Baffled and shaken she ask herself. "What in the world is happening?" However, with her sister waiting at the airport exit, she didn't have time to dwell on the incident. She parked her car and got out, Anna came running to her and crushing her with a tight hug.
"Oh, I missed you so much Mila you have no idea," Anna said still in a hug.
Hahaha, I missed you too cupcake, I'm so glad you are finally here.
"I'm so glad to be here," Anna continued, her eyes sparkling. "Do you know how long I've been wanting to visit Tokyo? When they said I had a shoot here, I couldn't contain myself."
Mila furrowed her brow, confusion taking over her face. "Tokyo? Anna, this is Singapore. Are you sure you need to be here?"
Anna waved her hand dismissively, a smirk forming on her lips. "Yes, yes, same difference just spells differently.
She grabbed her bag and tossed it into the trunk of the car. Turning back to Mila with a mischievous glint in her eyes, she tilted her head and grinned. "So, are you going to show me Tokyo, or are you just going to stand there?"
Mila's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Singapore, Anna You're in Singapore!"
Anna burst into giggles, her laughter contagious. "Oh, right, yes that one..."
That evening, Anna and Mila sat at the table in Mila's apartment, finely able to catch up after being apart for so long. Anna didn't waste any time and began giving her sister a thorough update on what was happening back home.
"So, you know, Alex was sceaming with dad, which you knew because that's why you switch planes., "Anna began. "I, on the other hand, didn't know what was going on, and when I saw father's men, I was worried that they had caught Alex. But it turns out the bastard was working with father, but never mind him."
Mila nodded, listening intently as Anna's words sent shockwaves through her as she learned about the chaos that had unfolded in her absence. Anna continued. "Alfonso is going out of his mind. According to him, he wasn't himself during that whole incident, but honestly, I don't believe him. I think there's something else going on. And since you left, he has been sleeping in your room every night. We can't seem to get rid of him. He keeps begging us to tell him where you are, and he keep saying he made the biggest mistake of his life."
Shock and disbelief washed over Mila's face as she processed this information "What?! And father let him inside the house after he tried to kill me?" she said, shaking her head in disbelief.
"Not entirely," Anna clarified. "Alex beat him up so hard he landed in hospital. And what's even stranger is that Alfonso didn't even lift a hand to fight back. So, daddy dearest took pity on him."
Mila's eyes widened in surprise. "I can't believe what I'm hearing. Father doesn't have a heart, so where is this behavior coming from?"
Anna shrugged. "Beats me. But you need to consider talking to mom and dad. They still are your parents, you know, and mom miss you terribly. And deep down, I think dad does love you that's why he has been so hard on you.
"I... know, Anna. And I will. I just need a little more time," Mila replied, her mind filled with conflicting emotions.
"Okay, enough about home," Mila said, pouring them another glass of wine. "Tell me about your photoshoot tomorrow and how long you'll be here."
Ann hesitated, swirling her glass around. "Well, about that..." she began.
Mila immediately sensed something was up. "What are you not telling me, Anna? I know there's something you're hiding. I saw it in your face at the airport. I know you too well."
Anna took a deep breath. "Okay but promise me you'll do it first. Otherwise, it's not going to happen."
Mila's curiosity peaked. "No Anna, tell me what it is before I can say yes."
Reluctantly, Anna spilled the beans. " Okay, okay. I have a lingerie photoshoot with two of Singapore's most famous photographers. But here's the catch - the agency insists that you have to do it with me. Otherwise, they'll use someone else, and not me. They want the twin sisters, Mila. Please say yes...please."
"Anna, it's lingerie! I'm not going to stand there half-naked in front of two men I don't even know and show them my private parts."
"Oh, c'mon, Mila!" Anna exclaimed, rolling her eyes. "It's sexy lingerie, not a livestream of your personal anatomy showcase. There will be plenty of coverage...most of it, at least."
Mila's eyes widened in horror. "Most of it? Absolutely not, Anna! I love you and I'd do anything for you, but subjecting myself to that kind of exposure is where I draw the line."
Anna burst into laughter. "Geez, Mila, it's just a lingerie shoot! Besides, think of all the fabulous outfits we'll get for free!"
Mila's eyes narrowed suspiciously. "Free outfits, you say? Well, maybe I could reconsider, as long as they don't make me wear a thong. I mean, my cheeks were never meant to see the light of day."
Anna clinked her glass against Mila's. "Deal sis. No thongs, no exposed cheeks. Now, let's drink to our moment in the spotlight!"
Mila hesitated for a moment, then raised her glass with a smirk. "To being the most stylish lingerie models the world has ever seen!"
