### Chapter 11: Betrayal
The next morning, Lisa awoke with a sense of dread hanging over her. The confrontation with Devon had left her shaken, but more determined than ever. She knew she couldn't allow him to control her life any longer. Yet, the weight of his threats loomed large, and she felt the need to act quickly before Devon made good on his promises. He was capable of anything—of that she was certain.
Lisa decided to seek out Sara. The connection they shared had become undeniable, and she needed to talk to her before Devon could interfere further. They had both been avoiding their feelings, letting the complexities of their lives dictate their choices. But now, Lisa felt an urgency to confront her emotions head-on.
As she drove to Sara's family estate, her mind raced with possible outcomes. Would Sara even want to see her? Would she choose to distance herself out of fear, or would she be willing to stand by Lisa's side? The unknowns only heightened her anxiety, but she knew she couldn't turn back now.
When she arrived at the grand gates of the D.W. Organization's estate, she took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm inside her. The sprawling mansion stood like a fortress, imposing and cold, a stark contrast to the warmth she had felt whenever she was with Sara. Lisa rang the doorbell and waited, her heart pounding in her chest.
A few moments later, the door opened, and Sara stood before her, dressed casually but with an air of elegance that Lisa found captivating. For a brief moment, they simply stared at each other, the tension between them palpable.
"Lisa," Sara said softly, her voice tinged with surprise. "I wasn't expecting you."
"I needed to see you," Lisa replied, her voice wavering slightly. "We need to talk—about everything."
Sara hesitated for a moment, then stepped aside to let Lisa in. "Come in. We can talk in the garden."
They walked through the grand hallways in silence, the only sound being the soft click of Sara's heels on the marble floor. When they reached the garden, the sunlight filtering through the trees gave the space an almost magical quality. But despite the beauty around them, the atmosphere was heavy with the unspoken words between them.
Sara gestured for Lisa to sit on a stone bench, then took a seat beside her. "What's going on, Lisa? You look like you've seen a ghost."
Lisa sighed, trying to find the right words. "It's Devon. He's...he's threatened to destroy everything if I don't stay away from you and Marble."
Sara's expression hardened. "What do you mean, 'destroy everything'? What is he planning?"
"He's dug up some information about us, about our relationship. He's using it as leverage. He said he would ruin me, ruin us both, if I don't back off." Lisa's voice cracked as she spoke, the weight of her fears overwhelming her.
Sara remained silent for a moment, processing what Lisa had said. Then, she reached out and took Lisa's hand in hers, squeezing it gently. "Lisa, I'm not afraid of Devon. He can't scare me into giving up on what I want. But I need to know—what do you want? Where do you stand in all of this?"
Lisa looked into Sara's eyes, seeing the strength and resolve in them. It was the same strength that had drawn her to Sara in the first place. "I want to be with you, Sara. But I don't want to drag you into this mess. Devon is dangerous, and I can't risk you getting hurt because of me."
Sara shook her head, her grip on Lisa's hand tightening. "This isn't just your fight, Lisa. We're in this together. And I'm not about to let Devon dictate our lives. He doesn't get to control us."
Before Lisa could respond, they heard footsteps approaching. Both women turned to see Marble standing at the entrance to the garden, her expression a mixture of hurt and anger.
"So, this is what it's come to?" Marble said, her voice shaking with emotion. "You're choosing her over me?"
Lisa felt her heart sink. She had been so focused on Devon and Sara that she hadn't fully considered how her choices would affect Marble. The pain in Marble's eyes was undeniable, and Lisa realized that she had been neglecting the depth of Marble's feelings.
"Marble, it's not that simple," Lisa began, but Marble cut her off.
"Not that simple?" Marble repeated, her voice rising. "You think I don't see what's going on here? You've been stringing me along while you've been falling for her." Marble's eyes flicked to Sara, filled with jealousy and hurt. "You can't have us both, Lisa."
Sara stood up, her posture tense. "Marble, this isn't about you and me. It's about Lisa finding out what she truly wants. We need to give her the space to figure that out."
Marble's expression hardened. "Space? Is that what you're calling it? Lisa, you need to make a choice. Right here, right now. Either you're with me, or you're with her. But you can't keep playing with our hearts."
Lisa felt trapped, the walls closing in on her. She knew that Marble was right—she couldn't continue to avoid making a decision. But the thought of choosing between them was agonizing. She loved them both in different ways, and the idea of losing either of them was unbearable.
"Marble, I—"
Before Lisa could finish, her phone buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out, her heart sinking when she saw Devon's name on the screen. She hesitated, then answered, knowing that she couldn't avoid him forever.
"Lisa, I hope you're enjoying your time with Sara," Devon's voice dripped with venom. "Because it's about to end. I've sent everything I have to the press. By tomorrow, the world will know all about your little love triangle. And believe me, it won't be pretty."
Lisa's blood ran cold. "Devon, don't do this."
"It's too late," Devon said, his voice devoid of emotion. "You made your choice, Lisa. Now you'll have to live with the consequences."
The line went dead, leaving Lisa in stunned silence. She slowly lowered the phone, her hands trembling. Marble and Sara watched her, their expressions shifting from anger to concern as they saw the fear in Lisa's eyes.
"What happened?" Sara asked, her voice soft but urgent.
Lisa looked up, her face pale. "Devon...he's leaked everything to the press. By tomorrow, everyone will know about us. Our families, our friends, the entire world."
The gravity of the situation hit them all at once. The delicate balance they had been trying to maintain was about to come crashing down, and there was nothing they could do to stop it.
Marble took a step back, her face a mask of disbelief. "He actually did it," she whispered, her voice hollow. "He's going to ruin us all."
Sara placed a comforting hand on Lisa's shoulder, trying to steady her. "We'll figure this out, Lisa. We won't let him destroy us."
But Lisa could barely hear her. All she could think about was the impending storm, the betrayal, and the fallout that was about to engulf them all. Devon had made good on his threat, and now, there was no turning back. The game had changed, and Lisa knew that the next move would be the most dangerous one yet.
