Alec's POV
I sat in my office and now all I wanted was a moment of peace. But Dmitri had other plans. Like always. Expected.
He lounged in the chair across from me, an irritating smirk on his face. "So, Alpha, I saw your Luna with Ivan. Planning to hand her off already? Didn't take long for you to find a replacement, huh?"
I shot him a glare. "What's your point?"
"Oh, come on, Alec. You know how Ivan looks at her. If I didn't know any better, I would say he has been waiting for you to slip up." Dmitri's tone was playful, but there was genuine concern behind his teasing.
A growl rumbled low in my throat from Sam. "He has got a point."
Nope, he didn't.
"He wouldn't dare," I growled, tension coiling in my gut. "He knows what's at stake."
"Right," Dmitri said. "Just like Claire knew what she was doing when she showed up uninvited. I bet she spent all night thinking of ways to get under your skin."
