Meanwhile, on Briar's side, she was feeling nervous.
Why did the kids become so obedient tonight? She didn't coax them for long and they were resting.
Now she had to return to the master bedroom and share the same bed with Logan. Filled with so much excitement, how was she going to contain herself?
The more she thought about it, the scared she became.
Briar leaned against the wall as she looked at the elevator. She didn't know how long she stood there, but after a while, she jolted back to reality as she patted her cheeks.
"There is no way you are avoiding this. Might as well just face it head-on. He isn't a monster and won't eat me!" she mumbled under her breath as she walked towards the elevator.
Watching all the drama was Logan, who wore a mischievous smile on his face as he held the tablet in hand.
'Interesting!' he mused as he put the tablet away, ready to welcome his new wife.
Briar, on the other hand, had no clue that she was being seen and that in the days to come, she might expose herself a bit too much than she anticipated. She was just ready for battle and face whatever she was going to face.
'The bed is too big, anyway. There is no way we will end up in the same spot, right?' she thought to herself, very confident of her sleeping habits.
Briar couldn't avoid Logan forever, so she mustered all the courage and walked to the master bedroom.
With a slight knock on the door, she opened it and walked in without waiting for him to answer.
When she stepped into the room, she hurriedly looked away as she came face to face with Logan, who sat on the bed with the pillows behind him. His upper body was bare, and that was a sight she had seen a few times. When he was swimming at home.
To see his bare upper body in a confined space, her body felt hot and that tingling feeling returned to her.
Did he know how much she loved seeing that body?
Logan was truly tempting her badly. This was bad, but she loved it so much.
"Um, you are here!" as if he was just seeing her for the first time, Logan said as he looked at her.
Briar shifted her gaze back to the man. Since he wanted to be seen, why act like a shy virgin?
She might as well enjoy the scenery. It was all hers, by the way.
Collecting her calm once again, Briar closed the door as she answered, "Yes. The kids are sleeping now," informing him about the kids' status.
Logan nodded, already knowing that by now those kids should be either sleeping or readying to do so.
What he was most interested in now was the shy maiden in front of him. Was she going to jump at him at night?
Honestly, he was looking forward to a lot of things.
After closing the door, Briar started to walk towards the bathroom as she reported, "I will be back. Need to shower!" and once she was done, it suddenly dawned on her. Why did she report that to him?
Unfortunately, it was already too late to swallow her words back.
As she showered a moment later, Briar wanted to cry and yet no tears came out.
"What if he thinks I am insinuating something? Will he start looking at me like those women who want to climb into his bed badly?"
"Although I desperately want to climb into his bed," Briar shyly said to herself as she wiped her face, her lips curling upwards at the thought of doing so before she pulled her hair infuriatingly, "I really can't be found out, ahh~"
Briar was frustrated the more she thought about it. As a result, she spent a bit too long bathing, and Logan was worried.
Checking the time, she had hidden herself in that bathroom, and a sudden thought hit him.
Was she hiding away from him? Did she really dislike sharing the same bed with him?
Logan felt as if he was being tested. Otherwise, how did he end up with a wife who confused him so much like that?
One second, she would be acting all shy as if she had feelings for him and the next, she would be acting as if she wanted to be as far away from him as possible.
Was she that hard to read all these years?
Or he was seeing wrong.
After waiting for a long time, Briar finally came out of the bathroom and, seeing what she was wearing, Logan's misunderstanding even grew worse.
Briar didn't know what Logan was thinking.in her mind, she was still chanting a mantra, suppressing her great desire to do something to Logan. She didn't even notice that her nightgown had just saved her once again and at the same time triggered another switch in Logan.
Clueless about all that, she nervously walked toward the other side of the bed and climbed onto the bed.
Since the bed was so huge, Briar occupied her side, or rather a small piece where she could fit. As for the space between her and Logan, that was for the spirits to have fun on. There was no way she was going to keep her hands to herself if she moved any inch closer.
Logan, seeing that, clenched his fists, becoming very determined to deal with this girl.
He had been single for years and had gotten used to women throwing themselves at him. And yet the woman he picked to marry avoided him like a plague. There was no way he was going to tolerate that from continuing to happen.
However, he didn't want to scare her. It took her great courage to come to his room at night, after all. Chasing her away after taking such a great liking to her would not sit well with him.
There was silence in the room for five minutes or so, and Logan, seeing that Briar wasn't willing or courageous to say anything, he turned his head to look at her.
When he saw her, a chuckle escaped his lips, finding her cute about how she was sleeping.
Occupying a small space from the bed, wearing that long cotton nightgown which reached her mid-calves and covering her head on top of that when it was this hot, wasn't she suffocating?
Just how much fear for him did she have for her to be so armed like that?
Didn't she have a single clue that with her dressed like that and acting like that, it even made his urges so strong that the man in him wanted to conquer?
As that chuckle escaped his lips, Briar, who was still struggling with what to say, removed the covers from her face as she turned to look at Logan.
Seeing him chuckling as he looked at her, that naked upper body still showing, she hurriedly chanted another mantra in her head as she asked, "Logan, are you not sleepy yet?" doing her best to be steady.
She had stammered for far too long in front of him from the day that they got their certificates. She needed to stop being nervous in front of him.
"Not yet. Are you sleepy, yourself?"
'How is that even possible when I can sense the heat coming from you even with such a river between us?' she cursed inwardly but still responded meekly, "No. I am not feeling sleepy right now," her words were very sincere.
She didn't have any drowsiness at all and she wasn't even sure if she was going to sleep at any rate. The excitement was a bit too much for her at the moment.
Hearing her saying that Logan knew that he just got a chance to try something.
"Since we both aren't sleepy, how about we talk? We don't know much about each other," he suggested as he adjusted his position.
Briar's eyes lit up when she heard that. "I don't mind, but I don't have anything interesting."
"Whose life is interesting?" he shrugged his shoulders as he asked that.
Briar let out a chuckle as she adjusted herself as well, finding Logan's statement to hold some truth in it.
"I guess the perspective of it will determine that."
"Indeed, so don't judge yet. I will judge it for myself," Logan answered as he raised his brow at her.
Briar beamed as she got comfortable. She now sat on the bed, with several pillows behind her as support. In the position she sat, she could see that upper body without hindrance despite the light in the room being dim.
With how sharp eye-sighted she was, she could even find a needle in the dark. Her mother taught her the hard way.
"Okay. If you insist. So, what do you want to know? I will do my best to answer it!" she eagerly asked, ready to let her man know what she could share with him wholeheartedly.
As for what shouldn't be shared, she was sorry in advance. Some other things should be carried to the grave.
When a Pandora's Box gets sealed, it should remain that way.
At all costs.
