Chereads / Sweet Reborn: Spoiled by the CEO / Chapter 25 - YOUR GRANDSON IS MINE

Chapter 25 - YOUR GRANDSON IS MINE

"Actually, I know that Muchen cannot control these things himself, but... staying at the old house wouldn't help his condition. We've consulted countless doctors and specialists, both abroad and at home, yet to no avail. So, I allowed Muchen to live on his own."

"Thinking back, it was quite fortunate. If Muchen hadn't moved out, he might never have met you."

Bai Nuanxi furrowed her brows. "Met me?" She... couldn't quite remember.

Right... How had she first met Huo Muchen? Bai Nuanxi was shocked to realize that she had no memory of it at all!

That's impossible!

"What's the matter?" Old Master Huo asked gently, looking at Bai Nuanxi's surprised expression as if he were gazing at a cherished grandchild.

"Nothing," Bai Nuanxi shook her head, forcing a smile. That matter could wait for another time... After all, her rebirth was something she could never speak of. In this regard, everyone else was an outsider.

"I only hope that you can take good care of Muchen for me. That would give this old man peace of mind. I know my words don't hold much weight now, but... I hope you promise to take care of him sincerely, and never do anything to hurt him again. He... truly loves you." By the end, Old Master Huo's eyes glistened with tears.

He handed Bai Nuanxi a prepared document.

Bai Nuanxi took the document, puzzled. "What's this?"

Upon reading the words, Bai Nuanxi was taken aback—a stock transfer agreement?!!

What was this?!

Realizing what it was, she immediately handed it back to Old Master Huo. "Grandfather, I can't accept this!"

"Take it. Consider it my blessing to you as my granddaughter-in-law, wishing you both a long and happy life together." Old Master Huo's tone was calm, having already made up his mind to transfer the shares to Bai Nuanxi. He had no intention of taking back what he gave away.

"Grandfather," Bai Nuanxi, seeing that he wouldn't take it back, placed the document back in its envelope and set it on the sofa beside her. "To be honest, I have genuine feelings for Huo Muchen. He's already mine, so what need is there for money or shares?"

"After all, the richest man in the country is my husband. With the wealth I'll have, even if it's not mountains of gold and silver, I'll at least be set for life." Bai Nuanxi's face radiated confidence.

The love between her and Huo Muchen was entirely free from any financial disputes. Although Huo Muchen would occasionally assist the Bai family because of her, since her rebirth, Bai Nuanxi had made it clear that she didn't want him to help her family any further.

Huo Muchen, always putting her first, had agreed to her request.

"Heh... You're right. It seems I was foolish," Old Master Huo tapped his head. His grandson had already chosen her, so whatever he had would eventually belong to her. Giving her the shares now could indeed seem like it might undermine their relationship.

"Sometimes, it's better to be muddle-headed. Being too clever can be exhausting," Bai Nuanxi laughed, reaching out to gently massage Old Master Huo's temples.

As Bai Nuanxi stepped out, Huo Muchen was standing at the study door. His tall, broad figure blocked the sunlight, casting a golden hue around him.

"Were you waiting for me?" Bai Nuanxi asked softly, walking up to take Huo Muchen's hand.

"What did Grandfather say to you?" Huo Muchen was curious about their conversation but had too much dignity to eavesdrop, so he waited for her to come out.

"Grandfather... Grandfather said I'm a good girl..." Bai Nuanxi began teasingly, trying to gauge his reaction, but Huo Muchen's expression remained unchanged. A little disappointed, she pouted and continued, "He hopes I can take good care of you. After all, you can't control your mania, but I can help you calm down. So, I'm like a sedative for you."

Bai Nuanxi fiddled with her fingers. "Though it's just a guess, maybe we could test it often in the future to see if it's true."

"Test it often?" Huo Muchen focused on her words, as if she was suggesting he should have frequent outbursts.

"Um... I mean, we could try when the opportunity arises," Bai Nuanxi stuck out her tongue, realizing she hadn't chosen her words carefully, and now Huo Muchen was teasing her for it.

"Alright. We can try in the future," Huo Muchen nodded, taking her hand and leading her downstairs.

They had a future...

"Where are we going now? The banquet is over; are we heading home?" Her soft voice soothed him without her even realizing it.

Huo Muchen responded calmly, "Yes, we're going home."

By now, Bai Jiaan had become a notable figure in the entertainment industry, though much of her fame was due to infamy. After all, stealing her sister's boyfriend and then flaunting it disgusted many. Some men might find her demure act appealing, but to most women, she was nothing but a homewrecker!

Still, the show had to go on. The role had been cast, the contract signed, and even if the director found Bai Jiaan repulsive, he couldn't do anything about it. He secretly reduced her already limited screen time, cutting many of her more important scenes, effectively demoting her from a secondary lead to a mere supporting role.

Bai Jiaan had tried to fight back, but with the script already written and her contract stipulating that she adhered to the script's content, she had no recourse when it was revised later.

With the series wrapped up, Bai Nuanxi found herself with a lot of downtime. She was now lying on her large bed, staring blankly at the ceiling.

The butler knocked on the door and entered. "Madam, it's time for lunch."

"Hmm, I'm not very hungry. I'll skip it for now." Bai Nuanxi waved her hand dismissively. Zhao Tingting had brought her numerous scripts, and she needed to choose one she liked. She didn't have time for lunch.

"Madam, the Young Master has instructed that lunch must be eaten on time, or he will come back to eat with you," the butler had anticipated her response. Since finishing the show, Bai Nuanxi's routine had been a glass of milk for breakfast, skipping lunch, and eating only a little for dinner.

Even though it was understood that actresses had to maintain their figures, this was definitely not a healthy diet. Besides, Bai Nuanxi had no reason to starve herself like this.
