A few minutes later, the four of them found themselves in the living room in a rather awkward atmosphere. Marc and Jin sipped their complimentary drinks quietly while the young lady and Sanchez waited for them to finish with sweat on their brows.
"I see you're enjoying the drink?"
"Yes. It's pretty good. But, tell me..."
Marc quietly placed his cup on the table and looked intensely at the millionaire.
"Why did you poison the drink?"
The millionaire felt fear rush to his head. The two men who had just defeated his entire team and even the GIA monster were standing before him unscathed after drinking poison.
"I...I..."
"It's not right, you know? To poison your guests."
Sanchez collapsed to the floor as Marc moved forward. He looked desperately in the direction of his bodyguard, who didn't move a muscle. Even she didn't dare oppose them.
"Heads up, Rodrigo Sanchez."
The millionaire slowly looked up at Marc, who seemed to take pleasure in scaring people.
"Sit back down and let's talk?"
Sanchez slowly sat back in his chair and Marc did the same. For him, this was his last day on earth.
"We're not going to eat you, you know? We're just here for the book."
"I know. It was you who sent me a message. Marc Zeymond, isn't it?"
"That's right. I'd love to tell you all about what we've been through right here, but given your distrust of us, I'll refrain. Nevertheless, I'll share this image with you."
Jin took out his phone and showed the image of Marc and his group with the Emperor.
"That's...that's...so that was you."
"That's right. So, if you called the police, you're in trouble. You, like them."
Sanchez immediately regretted his gesture. Indeed, as soon as he'd seen that his bodyguard couldn't fight off these two, he'd called the IG.
"Forgive my imprudence. I called the IG."
"Well, that's fortunate. Tell us about them."
"I can do that, sir. After all, I'm from there."
The IGA monster. That was the name she'd given them. Marc looked at the young woman preparing to speak.
"The IGA is a secret organization that recruits young prodigies to turn them into assassins or bodyguards. Their methods are very strict and they don't hesitate to kill them."
"You're from there, aren't you? So tell me about your past."
"Very well. "
The young woman sighed heavily before beginning. As if bad memories were resurfacing in her head.
"To begin with, my name is Christina Leya. From as far back as I can remember, I've never had parents. I was raised in an orphanage in Kier. That's where I grew up. We weren't very well off and there weren't many of us, but we were happy. Until that day...By the way, we weren't in a real orphanage at all, but in one of La IGA's centers."
