"You should have seen the look on her face!" I say with a loud laugh as I happily explain my entire day to Duke as we settle into bed for the night.
"I didn't even give her the chance to think of a proper response, I just said my piece and then instantly slipped into my car. Then I honked at her when she still stood there like a brainwashed doll. She staggered out of the way and I zoomed off."
"You obviously had a good time." He says with a soft laugh but he kind of seems absentminded.
"I did. Lately I've been seeing more expressions of Alicia than I have seen in all my years on earth. It's quite refreshing to have the upper hand."
"Indeed." He says as he calmly strokes my hair.
"Dealing with her today again made me realize that I've been the cause of my own misery all these years. I let her bully me, placing her on such a high scale like she was untouchable. I failed to see that she was just a human being like me and I let her affect me too much."
