When the ID of the caller shows the name Duke, my entire body lights up delightfully as I clear my throat quickly and pick up the call.
They say when something great happens to you the first person you want to tell, the first person that comes to mind to share that joy with is someone you hold dear. Someone you love deeply.
With Duke it's like that. Whenever something great happens to me, he's the first one I want to contact. I can never wait to spill it all to him.
Just like now, I most certainly would have called him first to tell him the verdict of the court on Alicia's case, so seeing his call coming in as soon as I step out of the court makes me even more happy.
"Hello, Duke—" I say with much enthusiasm. "I was just about to call you," I say as I continue my walk towards my car. "She got fourteen years Duke, Alicia got fourteen years. That does not compare to what she did to me but I think it's fair enough and—"
