Chapter 12 - [Chapter-12 I should kill you right now (Linda's Anger)] ]

Scene: A Rooftop at Twilight

The twilight sky was awash in hues of deep purples and blues as Linda Novac stood on a rooftop, her sharp eyes scanning the city below. A thin trail of smoke drifted from the cigarette between her fingers, rising into the cooling evening air. She liked the solitude up here—the quiet, the distance from the noise of the streets below. It gave her time to think, time to focus.

But tonight, something was different. Her eyes narrowed as she caught sight of something—a dark figure moving swiftly through the narrow alleyways below.

Linda: (muttering to herself, flicking the cigarette away) "What the hell...?"

Without hesitation, she leaped from the rooftop, landing silently in the alley, her boots barely making a sound against the cobblestone. The figure was fast, but so was she. Her pulse quickened as she began chasing it through the twisting streets, her feet moving with deadly precision as she kept pace.

The chase intensified, the figure slipping in and out of sight, darting between shadows and narrow passageways. Linda's breath came steady, her focus sharp as she closed the distance.

Linda: (growling under her breath) "You're not getting away that easily."

As she rounded a corner, the figure was within arm's reach. She lunged forward, her hand outstretched, ready to grab it when—

Voice: (from above, calm but curious) "Who are you chasing? A demon?"

Startled, Linda whipped around to see another figure descending gracefully from the rooftop above, landing softly on the cobblestones a few feet away. Her long, flowing red hair caught the last rays of the setting sun, and her eyes—cold and calculating—locked onto Linda's with a knowing smirk.

Linda: (narrowing her eyes, her voice dripping with annoyance) "Oh, great. You."

Luina Igedvon, the daughter of Boldon Igedvon and sister of James, stood before her. Even in the fading light, her presence was unmistakable—tall but not from Linda, poised, and wearing the Igedvon family's signature battle gear. Linda felt her jaw tighten at the sight of her.

Luina: (her voice calm but taunting) "So, you're chasing it too. Didn't expect to see a Novac family member here, especially you."

Linda: (sneering, her tone sharp) "Stay out of my way, Luina. If that thing's a demon, then this is the Novac family business. You've got no reason to be here."

Luina: (shrugging nonchalantly, stepping closer) "Demon or not, it's still a threat to the kingdom. That makes it everyone's business. Or are you just upset because I'm better at chasing it than you?"

Linda: (snapping, her fists clenched) "Back off, Luina. I don't need help from the Igedvons, especially not you."

Their eyes locked, the tension between them thick in the air. They had never liked each other—rivalries between the Novac and Igedvon families ran deep, but with Linda's and Luina's fierce personalities, it was personal.

As they stared each other down, a sudden rustle in the shadows behind them caught their attention. The figure they had been chasing reappeared, this time revealing its true form.

The demon stood before them, a grotesque and terrifying figure straight from the depths of darkness. Its hunched body was a twisted amalgamation of sinew and bone, its leathery skin a sickly shade of mottled gray, stretched taut over its misshapen form. Standing nearly seven feet tall, it was a towering beast, with long, muscular arms ending in razor-sharp claws that scraped menacingly against the cobblestones as it moved. Its chest heaved with every ragged breath, the sound like gravel grinding against stone.

The demon's head was the most horrific part of its appearance. Two large, curling horns jutted from its skull, framing a face that was more beast than human. Its glowing red eyes burned with a malevolent intelligence, while its wide, tooth-filled maw dripped with thick, black saliva that sizzled on the ground below. From its back, leathery wings, torn and battered, unfurled like those of a nightmare bat, their edges jagged and sharp. A long, whip-like tail trailed behind it, tipped with a barb that glistened in the dim light.

Every part of the creature exuded an aura of ancient, malevolent power as if it had been born from the darkest corners of the world.

SFX: The sound of leathery wings unfolding, a low growl reverberating through the alley.

The creature stepped into the faint light, its grotesque body hunched, its glowing red eyes fixed on the two women. A demon. Its claws scraped against the stone as it let out a spine-chilling hiss, preparing to strike.

Linda: (gritting her teeth, drawing her weapon) "Get ready."

SFX: The sharp ring of steel as Linda unsheathed her blade, the edges glowing faintly with magic. Beside her, Luina moved in sync, her weapon appearing in her hand, a sleek and deadly spear that shimmered with energy.

Luina: (smirking, her tone casual) "You're not going to do this alone, Linda. Whether you like it or not, I'm here to help."

Linda: (snarling) "Help? Stay out of my way, or you'll get hurt."

But there was no more time for words. The demon lunged forward with a speed that belied its hulking form, its claws aimed at Linda's throat. She dodged to the side, spinning gracefully as her blade slashed through the air.

SFX: The clash of steel meeting demonic flesh, a sizzling sound as Linda's blade made contact with the creature's arm, causing it to howl in pain.

Linda: (gritting her teeth, focusing on the fight) "You're mine."

The demon retaliated, its tail whipping toward her with lightning speed, but before it could land a blow, Luina intervened. Her spear shot out in a blur of movement, striking the demon's side and sending it reeling backward.

SFX: A sharp, metallic sound as Luina's spear pierced the demon's hide, a shockwave of energy rippling through its body.

Luina: (grinning, her voice playful but mocking) "You're welcome, by the way."

Linda: (growling, her eyes flashing with fury) "I didn't ask for your help!"

The two women moved in perfect coordination, their movements a deadly dance as they worked together to subdue the demon. For a moment, it seemed like they were evenly matched, each strike landing with precision and power.

SFX: The sound of their blades cutting through the air, the demon's roars echoing through the narrow alley as it fought back, its claws slashing wildly.

But despite their synchronized movements, the underlying tension between them was palpable. Linda was furious—not just at the demon, but at Luina's presence. Her family had no business interfering with Novac's matters, and the idea that Luina was trying to show her up only made it worse.

As the fight raged on, Linda managed to land a brutal blow to the demon's chest, sending it staggering back. The creature was wounded, weakened, and struggling to stand. But just as Linda prepared to land the final strike, Luina stepped in.

SFX: A sudden rush of wind as Luina's spear thrust forward, piercing the demon's heart.

SFX: The demon let out a final, ear-splitting screech before collapsing to the ground, dead.

Linda: (furious, her voice a deadly growl) "What the hell, Luina?! I had it!"

Luina: (smirking, wiping the blood off her spear) "You were taking too long. I figured I'd speed things up a bit."

Linda's eyes blazed with fury. This wasn't the first time Luina had interfered, but this time, it was different. Linda had no intention of killing the demon—not yet. She wanted answers and information. But now, that chance was gone.

SFX: The sound of Linda's blade scraping against the ground as she lowered it, her hands trembling with rage.

Linda: (her voice low, dangerous) "You had no right to do that. This was Novac business."

Luina: (raising an eyebrow, her tone indifferent) "A demon is everyone's business, Linda. I don't care about your family's stupid territorial claims."

Linda: (her eyes narrowing, stepping closer) "You don't get it, do you? You always have to interfere. Always have to show off. But this time, you've gone too far. You little Bitch. ( Evil glare)"

Luina: (shrugging, unbothered by Linda's anger) "I didn't realize saving your life was such a problem."

That was the last straw. Linda's body tensed, her grip tightening around her sword. She could feel the heat rising in her chest, the fury coursing through her veins. The demon was dead, but the real fight was just beginning.

SFX: The soft shuffle of boots on stone as Linda stepped forward, her blade raised, her voice cold and final.

Linda: (deadly calm, her eyes locked onto Luina's) "I've had enough of you, Luina. Do you think you can just come in here and kill that thing like you own the place? You've crossed a line. I should kill you right now."

Luina's smirk faded, her eyes narrowing as she raised her spear defensively.

Luina: (her voice calm but serious) "You're not serious, are you?"

Linda:( Smiling coldly and very seriously, feeling like a dark aura, again and again, killing you) "Do you think I am joking? You are not different from your bother." ( Wild eyes and pitched sound echoing.)
