Chapter 3 - chapter 3(part 1)

The day break, casting a warm glow over the Tidestone. Morning sunlight streamed through the windows, filling the air with a soft, golden light. The scent of freshly baked bread wafted from the kitchen, mingling with the sweet fragrance of blooming flowers in the garden. Water creatures bubbled with joy, their gentle splashes echoing through the halls. Birds chirped above, their ethereal melodies painting the sky.

Valverde stirred from his slumber, feeling the softness of his bed and the gentle rustle of the bedclothes. He stretched, yawned, and rose, his feet meeting the cool stone floor. His Aviari servants had already prepared breakfast, and the savory aromas drew him to the dining hall.

As Valverde departed the dining hall, the golden morning light spilling across the floor, an uneasy feeling settled over him. Today, something would change. He made his way to the throne room, where the weight of his father's legacy pressed down upon him like the heavy crown on his brow. "Summon Leah," he commanded.

Leah entered, her gaze lowered. "My lord," she said, kneeling.

"Rise, Leah," Valverde replied. "I need to discuss something with you."

"I am at your service, my lord," Leah responded.

"Leah, what do you know of Ricardo the Abbott?" Valverde asked, his voice low and urgent. "My father spoke of him in hushed tones but never revealed his true significance."

Leah hesitated before speaking. "My lord, Ricardo the Abbott was a figure cloaked in mystery, known only to those who tread the ancient paths. Your father entrusted me with the knowledge of his existence, though I have never met him myself."

Valverde's eyes narrowed. "I encountered my father's apparition, and he instructed me to seek out Ricardo. He mentioned the ancient Tome of . Do you know anything about it?"

Leah shook her head. "No, my lord, I do not."

Valverde's grip on his chair tightened. "How can I find Ricardo?"

Leah's voice was barely a whisper. "He resides in the Mysterious Forest of Katya, as your father told me."

Valverde's eyes widened. "Katya—the forest where time and reality twist upon themselves. Few dare enter its depths."

Leah nodded. "What you seek lies within, my lord. Follow me."

Katya, the Mysterious Forest, was a place of legend, where the trees whispered secrets, and the very air was thick with enchantment. Few ventured into its depths, where time and reality wove together in strange ways. Leah led Valverde back to the Aethereal Sea , its waves crashing against the shore. She began to chant, her voice weaving an ancient spell. Ethereal butterflies fluttered about, opening a hidden path. Before them stood a powerful flute, crafted from bamboo and etched with ancient symbols.

"Take it, my lord," Leah said. "It is yours."

Valverde's fingers closed around the flute. "Why did my father keep this from me?"

"This flute, my lord, is no ordinary instrument. It was crafted by the ancient spirits of the Katya city, imbued with the power to open doors between worlds. Your father feared that you could be corrupted by those with dark intentions, so he kept it hidden, even from you."

Valverde's grip on the flute tightened. "That's why Malyster sought to conquer the Aethereal Sea—but he failed. Now it's yours to protect."

Leah bowed. "I have fulfilled my duty, my lord. The Aethereal Sea is in your domain. How did you know the way to the Mysterious Forest?" Valverde asked, his curiosity piqued.

"I will create a map for your journey, my lord," Leah replied, a hint of a smile on her lips.

Leah's slender fingers moved with reverence as she gathered glowing woods, shimmering silks, and precious gemstones. Yet, her hands trembled slightly, betraying her inner turmoil. She was crafting this map for Valverde, a man she barely knew, yet felt an inexplicable connection to. What if the map revealed secrets she wasn't ready to share?

As she attuned herself to the land's energy, a sudden gust of wind swept through, threatening to extinguish the delicate flames. Leah's eyes snapped open, her heart racing. She raised her hands, and a gentle breeze responded, soothing the flames. But the interruption left her shaken.

With a delicate, gemstone-tipped tool, she inscribed intricate symbols and runes onto the map's surface. But the tool slipped, leaving a faint smudge. Leah's breath caught. One mistake could ruin the entire map. She carefully corrected the error, her hands moving with precision.

Leah's hands wove shimmering threads, imbued with her own magic, into the map's fabric. But a dark presence lurked, watching her every move. She sensed its malevolent gaze, making her skin crawl. The threads shimmered, as if sensing her fear, and the map's magic faltered.

As she sang an enchanting melody, her voice soared like a nightingale, but a discordant note crept in, threatening to shatter the harmony. Leah's voice wavered, and the map's magic swirled, responding to her doubt. She took a deep breath, focusing on the song, and the melody steadied, filling the air with a sweet, haunting harmony.

With a final flourish, Leah sealed the map with a promise, binding her magic and will to its purpose. But a faint whisper echoed in her mind, "What have you unleashed?"

Valverde's heart was a storm of surprise and wonder, emotions swirling like a whirlpool on the sea. "Take it, my lord," Leah whispered, her voice carried on the air. Valverde accepted the map, glowing in resplendence, its whispers resonating with ancient power. Leah began to show him the way, the map revealing the mystical forest of bamboo and shrubs, every part of it filled with towering evergreen trees.

"Here is the entrance," Leah said, pointing at the two massive cedar trees that marked the gateway.

Valverde's eyes sparkled with wonder as he took the map from Leah. "This is incredible," he murmured, awe in his voice. "I can feel the magic pulsing through it."

Leah smiled, her eyes shining with pride. "I'm glad you appreciate it, my lord," she said. "I poured my heart and soul into its creation."

Valverde's gaze met Leah's, his expression serious. "I don't just appreciate it, Leah. I need it. I need to uncover the secrets of my past and find my true purpose."

Leah's expression softened, her voice filled with compassion. "Then the journey begins, my lord. May the magic of the map guide you."

As they stood there, the map glowing between them, Valverde felt a deep connection to Leah that he couldn't explain. It was as if their destinies were intertwined, bound together by the magic of the map.

"Thank you, Leah," Valverde said, his voice thick with emotion. "Thank you for believing in me."

Leah's cheeks flushed with a soft pink hue as she looked away, her voice barely above a whisper. "I believe in the magic of the map, my lord. And I believe in you."

Valverde's heart swelled with gratitude as he reached out, his hand brushing against Leah's. "I won't let you down," he promised.
