Chapter 6 - CHAPTER SIX

"What do you mean you agreed to it. Pheobe I know ow you to be wise and grown enough to make smart decisions but this is the dumbest decision I've ever heard."

Lizzbeth, her cousin, kept showering her concerns like a running tap. Although Lizzbeth was from a rich home, she and Pheobe grew up feeling neutral about both settings. They were more like blood sisters than cousins. Pheobe tells her everything and she does likewise.

"I understand your disappointment but I really need the money" she replied

"And you couldn't ask me for it? Pheb I've always been there for you, assisting you pay the bills, sponsoring your education , I even went as far as helping with George's hospital bills.. what would a few new hospital bills do to me?" She asked feeling disappointed.

"That is why I didn't ask you Liz. You've done more than Napoleon. You've always been there for me. I agreed because I don't want to trouble you with my issues too much. You have a life and other responsibilities to live and do. I want lessen the load" Pheobe answered apologetically.

"Have I ever complained?" Lizzbeth asked

"No you haven't. I confined in you because you are the only sister I have. The best one I can trust. Please don't rebuke me without taking it from my perspective." Pheobe said before bursting into tears.

She had always been strong and confident in her decisions but this was something she hated herself.Lizzbeth exhaled deeply and shoke her head. She stood up from where she sat on the bed and comforted her cousin who sat on the floor.

"If you think it is right, I support you. Just be very careful." she beseeched.

The next day, Pheobe met Akim in the restaurant where they first officially met. Her heart racing. He sat on the same table of that night but unlike that night, he wore simple casual wear rather than a suit and tie. His dress was simple but he still looked dashing.

"Well you are right on time," Akim remarked smiling broadly.

Pheobe kept mute and took her seat.

"How are we doing this?" Pheobe asked coldly.

"I like your enthusiasm but no need to rush things. You did say you didn't know me so let's get to know each other first after which we could think of marriage." He said calmly.

Pheobe looked sternly at him. Her mind constructing many sentences by the minute. She had to choose her words wisely.

"So how long are we looking at?" She asked

"About a month or two at most. At least by then your heart might probably learn to love me." He said

"Loving you is far from me at present. If that was your mindset you'd have to be patient as a normal man would do but nooo. You want to threaten using where it hurts most. If I don't call you wicked, that I'm being generous and inconsiderate to my heart and feelings." Pheobe said before bursting into tears.

Akim stood up awkwardly.

"Dry your tears and follow me" he commanded.

Pheobe sniffed and blew her nose before following him outside. They sat in a black Jeep that soon drove off. It stopped at a black iron gate. The driver pulled out a card and showed it a laser beam. Soon they arrived at a large mansion. Pheobe couldn't help but gasp in awe. This was a place she only saw in the movies. He can't necessarily be a billionaire, could he? Akim who had his eyes on her the entire time smirked before looking away. Things might go better than planned.
