Chapter 8 - Shadows of the Forest: The Wolf Encounter

After Yang Kai continued on his path, ignoring the inner disciples, they felt humiliated and angry.

How dare an outer disciple, who was inferior to them until recently, ignore them so boldly? It was clear that Yang Kai was not afraid of them; in fact, his confidence was a direct insult to their pride. The disciples exchanged fiery glances, with an unquenchable rage boiling in their hearts.

The three gathered around each other, with sparks flying from their eyes, while the tense silence was filled with moments of anticipation. The air was charged with suppressed anger.

The first one, biting his lips in fury, as if the pain was driving him forward in his devilish plan, said, "That boy thinks he's something big just because he got a task from Master Li. We need to show him his real place!" His eyes glowed with hatred, as if he was determined to teach Yang Kai a lesson he wouldn't forget.

The second one responded angrily, and was no less hateful than the first: "He's acting like he's already an inner disciple. Should we let him pass without learning a lesson? How can we allow this arrogance to continue without putting a stop to it?"

The third, who was the most cunning among the group, smiled maliciously, with the candlelight reflecting off his face, making him look like a demon in the dark. He said in a low voice, as if whispering to the shadows, "We have a perfect opportunity to deal with him. We won't confront him now; instead, we'll wait for him when he returns from his mission. He'll have exhausted his energy fighting the wolves, and he won't have enough strength left to resist us."

The group exchanged conspiratorial looks and agreed to execute their plan flawlessly. Their emotions were ablaze as if hatred was their fuel, and the desire for revenge was their guide on this dark night. They would ambush Yang Kai on his way back from the mountain, where he would be weary and tired from the mission, and there they would confront him.

The first one, with a sly smile, said, "We'll show him that advancing to the level of an inner disciple isn't as easy as he thinks."

The second added in a threatening tone, "We'll make him wish he had never ignored us like that."

As for the third, he spoke with a voice cold as ice, "This will be a lesson he won't forget easily. Let's wait for him at a certain point on the road, where he won't be able to escape or call for help."

The three agreed on the details of their plan and their positions in the ambush, then dispersed, each one harboring a burning hatred against Yang Kai. They were convinced that their victory over him was inevitable.

Yang Kai continued his progress without paying attention to the opinions of the inner disciples.

He didn't have time to worry about what they thought of him. He was focused solely on his mission and the challenge awaiting him at Plum Blossom Sect Mountain. Inside, he knew that success in this mission would determine his future, not what others said or believed. He was determined not to let anything or anyone stand in his way.

Yang Kai kept walking, his eyes looking forward with confidence and determination, ignoring the grudges those disciples might hold against him. Every step he took towards the mountain increased his resolve to succeed. The path was difficult and winding, and darkness slowly crept over the sky. But that didn't deter his determination; on the contrary, he fed off the challenges of the road to strengthen his resolve even more.

The wind whipped through his hair as he walked steadily, as if it was testing him, just as the wolves would soon do. Everything around him was warning him that the mission wouldn't be easy, but he wasn't afraid of hardships; the ancient warrior spirit dwelling within him, the spirit of Chunma, gave him the strength and determination to move forward.

Yang Kai continued his journey towards Plum Blossom Sect Mountain, where his mission awaited him. He was fully aware that the mission wouldn't be easy, but he didn't anticipate the amount of hardship he would face. Heavy silence surrounded him, and all he could hear was the sound of his footsteps and the call of the wind in the tall trees.

After hours of arduous climbing and constant searching, he finally reached an area known as the home of wild wolves. The air here was heavy, and the atmosphere was charged with danger. Yang Kai felt a hidden presence; the forest itself was watching him, waiting for the moment to reveal its dangers.

It wasn't long before he encountered the first wolf. The wolf was massive, with dark gray fur and fangs that gleamed like steel. Its eyes glowed in the darkness like two flames, filled with hatred and anger. The wolf was ready to pounce, as if it knew it was facing a strong opponent.

The battle began immediately. The wolf attacked with ferocity and without mercy, using its incredible speed to lunge at Yang Kai. But Yang Kai was ready; he raised his spear, prepared to defend himself. Adrenaline surged through his veins, making him more alert and focused on every move. He skillfully used his spear to block attacks and deliver deadly blows. The battle lasted for exhausting minutes, with each of them watching the other cautiously. Yang Kai moved like a ghost among the shadows, dodging attacks and looking for the right moment to strike back.

In the end, Yang Kai managed to land a decisive blow that ended the wolf's life. He felt the fatigue weighing down on his body, but he didn't stop; the mission wasn't over yet. He looked at the dead wolf's body and raised his head to the sky as if challenging the entire night. This was just the beginning; greater challenges awaited him.

Yang Kai continued to delve deeper into the mountain, with each step becoming more difficult.

The deeper he ventured into the forest, the darker it became, and the air grew heavier, as if nature itself was trying to deter him from his mission. But he wouldn't accept defeat so easily. His mind was focused on his goal, determined to succeed no matter the cost.

After some time searching, he encountered the second wolf. This wolf was even fiercer than the first, with eyes gleaming with cunning and intelligence. It was larger in size, and its features hinted at vast experience in battle. The wolf stood among the trees, as if it was part of them, separated from the darkness only by its glowing eyes. It lunged at Yang Kai with lightning speed, forcing him to retreat several steps. The fight against this wolf was even more brutal; every attack required Yang Kai's full concentration, and every strike he had to deliver with deadly precision.

Yang Kai engaged in another fierce battle, trying to use all the martial arts he had learned to face this relentless opponent. The wolf lunged at him again and again, as if it wanted to finish him off with one blow. But Yang Kai was like an old warrior, facing each attack with patience and experience. He moved fluidly as if he were dancing between the attacks, and when the right moment came, he didn't hesitate to use his full strength.

In the end, after a long and grueling fight, he managed to stab the wolf deeply, ending its life. But the battle had left him exhausted, his body covered in wounds. The cold air stung his injuries, but he wouldn't shed a tear or cry out; pain was just another part of the challenge.
