Tony
I was proud of the way I laid this plan out to Melanie. It was an open cheque; and with my vest knowledge of people and the world, no one can resist this.
Smiling giddily, I looked up and expected to see a smile of appreciation or at the least, a blush on her cheek.
But what I saw shocked me to silence. A storm was brewing on Melanie's face and though her face had turned red, it was in anger.
Unconsciously, I moved back in my seat. "Melanie." I called her name quietly as she was not saying anything but staring with a deathly stare.
"How dare you?" The words came out in a hiss as her mouth was closed shut. "How dare you come to my house and mock me with this rubbish? Did my father put you up to this?" She flung the document at me.
*No. It's all my idea. I've not even met with your father after we both left the other day." I defended. She stood up and began pacing to and fro in the living room.
"Then do I look so cheap that you think you can buy me with money? Do you think so little of me that you think I can be enticed by this stupid proposal of yours?" She was so angry, that my mind warned me to stay away from her.
"Melanie, calm down." I spoke up with caution.
"I should calm down? You're telling me to calm down?" She laughed deliriously as she stared me down.
"I won't sit still and allow you mock me. I want you to stand up and leave my house this very moment. I don't ever want to see you again." She pointed to the doorway.
Why did it come to this? I made another attempt at talking to her.
"Melanie, we can discuss this better without getting angry. I need you. You're the one my grandmother chose and I don't even know why. But I need you help." I reasoned with her desperately.
She stood still pointing at the door, not moved by my please at all. I stood up dejectedly and that was when I saw Grace. She was standing by the door post. She shook her head at me disappointedly, and I sighed.
"I won't be seeing you out, Tony." She said sadly.
"I'll be back, Melanie." I muttered as I left the living room and saw myself out.
"Don't you dare come back, you jerk." Melanie shouted after me. She must have heard what I said.
Angrily, I took the stairs in two strides. I needed to vent my anger on something.
What was wrong with that woman? Why is she so different from any other person out there? How can a frail looking woman have so much anger store up?
Did Grandma knew all these and still wanted me to marry her? I shook my head in disagreement. She will certainly be the death of me.
I needed an outlet for this pent up anger. I got into the car and drove to the hide out. I'll just take it out on the stalker.
My rage was showing in the way I drove and I could care less. I guess this is why my grandma always tells me not to drive when I'm emotional.
I was so occupied with my thoughts that I did not stay fully focused while I was driving, at an interception, a dog ran into the road. I saw it at the last minute and I quickly averted my hands, I pivoted my foot forward to apply light pressure to the brake pedal. I Gradually apply more pressure until I felt resistance from the brakes engaging and my car slowed down, skidding to a stop at the side of the road.
Thankfully, the road was deserted, so there was no casualty.
"The dog." I immediately got down to see the dog and it was there in the middle of the road, looking frightened.
"I don't fucking have time for this." I ran to it and picked it up, putting it in the back seat, then got into the driver's side of the car and drove off, this time I was focused.
I got to the building in no time, and after parking my car, I turned in my seat and lokked at the dog sitting quietly.
"Stay here and don't roam anywhere. If you need to go, just hold it in till I get back. Do you understand?" I pointed at it and it turned it's head sideways and whimper.
"That's a good dog." I do not know much about dogs, but I should believe that he won't soil my car, right?
I tried assuring myself and get down from the car, ensuring to keep it locked.
I was almost at the entrance of the building, when I went back to the car and scooped three dog in my hands.
I'm not gonna take such chances with my princess." I muttered under my breath
"Welcome boss."
"Welcome boss." The men greeted me as I stepped into the room. I acknowledged them and went to the inner room, where the lady was probably kept.
"Welcome boss ." Miraclegreeted, turning to face me. I nodded my head at him and stared past him to the woman tied to the chair, blindfolded.
"Here, attend to this dog." I passed the dog to Dimitri, who took it with great delight. He cooed at the dog and it kicked his face in happiness, finally finding someone it could relate with.
"It's a little puppy, boss. Not yet a dog." I just rolled my eyes at him. He could be childish when you least expect it. He went out with the puppy and came back in soon
The lady was still conscious but I could not guarantee for how long she will enjoy that privilege.
I nodded at Miracle and he filled me in on what they've gotten from her so far.
"Her name is Ruth. She is from Tibet and she got into the city a couple of months ago." Miracle passed a file to me, where I read basic information about her.
