Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Obito Awakens the Sharingan

"Do you want to die?"

Uchiha Yohoshi's double-tomoe Sharingan bore down on Fūka, emanating a murderous intent.

Fūka, with his youthful yet sharp features, raised an eyebrow and met the challenge head-on, "You can try!"

"Arrogant brat!" Uchiha Yohoshi's eye twitched in anger as he flung a shuriken at Fūka.

As a Chūnin, Yohoshi's strength far surpassed that of his son, Uchiha Roku. The shuriken whistled through the air, slicing toward Fūka's head like a deadly shadow.

"He's really trying to kill me!"

In that moment of life and death, Fūka's lean but well-trained body responded instinctively. The rigorous training he'd undergone with Might Duy showed its results for the first time.

Whoosh!

A swift breeze passed, and the shuriken pierced through Fūka's head—only to find that it had struck nothing but an afterimage.

"So fast!"

Yohoshi's heart skipped a beat, but his eyes, cold and calculating, quickly tracked Fūka's movements with his double-tomoe Sharingan as he closed the distance.

With a flick of his wrist, Yohoshi flipped his kunai into a reverse grip. "Uchiha Fūka, you should feel honored to witness the strength of a Chūnin before you die."

Swoosh!

Two shadows crossed in the air, followed by the sharp clang of metal against metal.

"He blocked it?!"

Yohoshi's eyes flashed with surprise, but his killing intent only intensified.

He spun around and launched another assault, this time pouring his chakra into the kunai, causing it to glow with a faint blue light, sharp as a blade and deadly as a divine weapon.

Yohoshi's kunai was a special tool, designed to conduct chakra, making it incredibly sharp.

"I can't block that directly! My chakra reserves are only half-full, and even if I combine them with my physical stamina, I'm still no match for a Chūnin!" Fūka shifted his strategy to evasive maneuvers.

His ninja pouch was filled with tools that were now ready to be put to use.

Shing! Shing! Shing!

A flurry of shuriken shot toward Yohoshi like a storm of deadly petals.

"Is this all you've got?"

Yohoshi casually swung his kunai, the blue chakra-infused blade effortlessly slicing through every shuriken that came his way.

"Fox Mind Illusion!" Fūka quickly cast a genjutsu.

The Fox Mind Illusion was a technique that caused the victim to see an endless maze, draining their energy as they wandered aimlessly.

But what happened next caught Fūka off guard—he suddenly found himself walking through a maze, with walls winding and twisting in all directions, making it impossible to find a way out.

"Damn it!"

Fūka reacted quickly, mentally kicking himself.

Of course, with Yohoshi's double-tomoe Sharingan, the Fox Mind Illusion had been reflected back at him!

Fūka immediately closed his eyes, relying on his hearing to sense his surroundings.

Yohoshi let out a cruel chuckle, slowly approaching Fūka, who had his eyes shut tightly. "You dare use genjutsu on me? Did you forget about my eyes? Heh, foolish!"

As he laughed, Yohoshi cast the enhanced Fox Mind Illusion through his Sharingan once again.

In the distance, Obito was beside himself with anxiety.

"Damn it, Fūka, wake up! I have to save him!"

Asuma quickly grabbed his arm. "Obito, calm down! This hasn't gone too far yet. That guy shouldn't dare kill anyone here at the Academy!"

"Shouldn't? What if he does? No, I have to stop him!"

Obito clenched his fists, a deep-seated fear rising within him. He remembered all the moments he'd shared with Fūka, the way Fūka had looked after him and his grandmother, the warmth of those memories... Suddenly, a strange chakra began to well up from the depths of his mind, seeping into his brain.

"It's over!"

Yohoshi's figure blurred as he suddenly closed the distance, his kunai pressing against Fūka's throat. With just a small motion, he could sever Fūka's windpipe!

"Stop!!!"

Obito screamed, his voice filled with fury and fear. The strange chakra in his mind surged, flooding into his eyes.

Boom!

As the kunai sliced through, Fūka's body instantly dissolved into a puff of smoke.

"What?!" Yohoshi's eyes widened in disbelief, then twisted in rage. "A shadow clone? No, if it were just a clone, my Sharingan would have seen through it. This was... a shadow clone?! Damn it, I've been fighting a shadow clone all this time?! A mere child, not even a Genin, dared to insult me like this?!"

Meanwhile, Rin, Kurenai, Asuma, and the others screamed, half in shock at Fūka's disappearance, half at the change in Obito.

"Obito, your eyes..." Rin stared in disbelief.

Asuma's expression tightened. "The Sharingan... triggered by the shock of Fūka's 'death.'"

"That scared me to death!" Obito was patting his chest, still shaken by Fūka's sudden disappearance. But as he noticed the change in his vision and heard Rin's voice, he realized what had happened.

"My eyes? What's wrong with my eyes?" Obito quickly removed his goggles, and there, reflected in the lenses, were a pair of blood-red Sharingan with a single tomoe each!

"Haha, I've awakened them! I've awakened the Sharingan! This is amazing!"

Obito was over the moon, nearly jumping for joy. His dream was to become Hokage, and the Sharingan was his greatest asset in achieving that dream!

Uchiha Yohoshi suddenly turned his gaze toward Obito, his double-tomoe Sharingan locking onto Obito's newly awakened eyes.

"So, you've awakened the Sharingan too? Lucky brat!" Yohoshi's figure blurred again as he appeared in front of Obito. "Tell me, where is Uchiha Fūka hiding?"

"You bastard, do you think I'd tell you? Keep dreaming!" Obito glared back, his single tomoe spinning in his eyes. But soon, the tomoe faded, and his eyes returned to normal.

Obito had just awakened his Sharingan, but as one of the weakest students in the class, his chakra reserves were pitifully low, and his eye power even more so.

In just that short time, he could no longer maintain his Sharingan.

"Damn it!" Obito cursed under his breath.

"Kid, that's no way to talk to an adult!" Yohoshi reached out to grab Obito.

"Hold it right there!" Asuma finally stepped forward. "Mister, this is the Ninja Academy. What exactly are you trying to do?"

Yohoshi's pupils narrowed as he recognized Asuma's identity, but he remained defiant. "This is a matter of the Uchiha clan; it doesn't concern outsiders."

"The students at this academy are all Konoha citizens—there are no outsiders here, Mister!" Asuma said firmly, not backing down.

At the same time, atop the Ninja Academy building, the Third Hokage finally spoke, "That's enough."

Danzo chuckled faintly. "Aren't you curious to see what he'll do next?"

Danzo's words could have referred to Yohoshi, Asuma, or even both, but the Third Hokage wasn't interested.

"Alright, you're the Hokage—you have the final say," Danzo conceded with a wry smile.

With a subtle signal from Danzo, a ninja appeared on the training field and whispered something to Yohoshi. After a moment's hesitation, Yohoshi finally relented and left the academy, taking his son, Uchiha Roku, with him.
