-The Follow Morning-
The night was pretty rough for Mochi, she was so shaken at the fact that she could have killed someone that she couldn't sleep the night before. Her mother called her down to eat, and soon after finishing, she left the house to meet Boss. She knew that she needed to get the answers that she deserved from him.
She arrived at the cafe about 20 minutes after leaving. It wasn't very popular but they had very good scenery inside. She walked inside and quickly rushed to the booth that saw Boss was sitting at. He had on a black suit with a white button-up underneath, and about three buttons were undone.
Mochi sat across from him.
"Hey, Mochi, what's up?" Boss said.
"Are you serious?! You're just gonna start with what's up?! Do you know what I've been doing all night?!" Mochi said loudly.
"Hey woah let's calm down, people are starting to stare," Boss said in a low tone trying to calm her.
"I'm sorry... I've just been up all night stressing." Said Mochi.
"I know, it's fine. Let's start with a proper introduction. My name isn't my boss, it's Tamaki Daikatsu. Feel free to call me by my first name, we're going to be working very closely together." Said Tamaki.
"Nice to meet you, Tamaki. My name is Mo-" she was quickly cut off.
"Your name is Mochi Manami, you're 17, and you're in high school. I know everything about no need for you to go through the basics. Your data was sent to me right when you entered the Void." said Tamaki.
"I figure you had my info already. Well, I have a lot of questions that need to be answered." Said Mochi.
"As I said yesterday I'll answer anything I want, however, be mindful I have to leave in an hour."
"Ok we'll start with the "Void", what is that?" Said Mochi.
"The Void is the place you were yesterday while fighting." Said Tamaki.
"You mean the place you made me go?" Said Mochi.
"I didn't make you go to the Void, someone else did." Said Tamaki.
"What do you mean?" Said Mochi in a confused tone.
"One of the Guiders chose you to take the place of one of the recently deceased ones. Before you even ask what a Guider is let me tell you. Guiders are people like you who go to the void to help LDEs cross over to the underworld. There are always 100 Guiders at one time, never more, never less. The way it works is that when one of the current Guiders die in the Void another one hand picks someone to take their place." said Tamaki.
"Wait did you say die? I can die in there? Do I have to go back? Who the hell chose to put me in this shit? What is an LDE? Why did-" She was cut off again by Tamaki.
"Hey, slow down one question at a time, please. To answer your first question, yes you can die in the Void. However your physical body doesn't get harmed, your soul does. Remember when your cheek got cut in there but when you left there wasn't anything on your cheek? Your soul was the thing that was damaged, not your body. So the only way for you to die in the Void is when an LDE damages your soul beyond healing. At this moment your soul is healing as we speak from your last battle. To answer your next question I don't know who chose you, but I can tell you that Guiders who are chosen tend to choose people who are close to them so they have someone they know to share their experiences with. I know it seems messed up but imagine being thrown into a world that you don't have an understanding of. I would do it too personally. And unfortunately for you do have to go back there, I don't know when but it should be soon." Said Tamaki.
"I can kinda understand, but that's not fair at all. They chose for me to go through something that could put me in harm's way. That's not ok. I need to find out who chose me and confront them." Mochi said.
"Yeah, let's move on. Let me explain wha-" Tamaki stopped talking once one of the waiters came by with drinks.
"Sorry to interrupt but here are the drinks you ordered sir. I hope you enjoy it!" Said the waiter as they walked off.
Tamaki grabbed his drink, it was a hot coffee with no sugar or cream. He then slides a cup of strawberry milk tea boba to Mochi.
"How did you know this was my favorit- Oh right you know everything about me...Weirdo." She was under her breath as she took a sip of her drink.
"I heard that, but back to what I was saying. LDEs is an abbreviation for "Lost Despaired Entity". They used to be human, but they hit the lowest in life they could and died. They're typically victims of suicide or murder. When they die their soul gets so engulfed in sadness and despair that it grows into something dangerous and they manifest into the void. That's why we need Guiders, you need to help them cross over by destroying them. There has been an increase in them in the last year. The higher-ups are doing their best to try and decrease this but they haven't found a solution. " said Tamaki.
"So what about the LDE I fought yesterday? Was that the man who recently committed suicide named Makoto Tanaka?" Mochi said in a shaky voice.
"Yes it was, how did you know that? Only Seekers like me are supposed to know the background of the deity." Said Tamaki.
"Well after he was killed a polaroid of his face fell from its body. Also, what is a seeker and why are you shocked I know? Is that not normal?" Said Mochi.
"Seekers are people who are assigned to each Guider to assist you and let you know what about each LDE before fighting. And that is odd... I've never heard of polaroids appearing after killing one. I'm going to have to do some research into that because that's very weird." Said Tamaki.
"Ok, then why didn't you help yesterday? I could've died you ass. And if you're supposed to be my assistant then why the hell did you tell me to call you Boss?" Said Mochi in an annoyed tone.
"Well, it's customary to let Guiders be for the first time. We have to see how good you are in battle, and you're weak so far just so you know. As for me having you call me Boss, I just sound like I'm in charge even though I'm only a Seeker. So if you'd be so kind could you go back to calling me that?" Said Tamaki as he slightly chuckled. After he finished laughing he looked down at his watch.
"Absolutely not you ass. I have another question." Mochi said.
"That's going to have to wait. I stayed here a little longer than I intended so I have to go. I'll call you later so you can ask me. Bye bye." He then snapped his finger and disappeared.
"Wait! How the hell did he do that?" Said Mochi.
Shortly after he left the waiter from before came back over to where they were sitting.
"Alright ma'am, here's your bill!" The waiter said with a smile on her face.
"That ass left me the bill, I hate him." She said as she grabbed the receipt. When she looked down at it her eyes widened.
"Did he order a whole fucking meal before I came?! How am I going to pay for this?!"
