Chapter 20 - I Am Never Letting You Go

Ava's POV:

My gaze was still stuck in the picture, wondering why he would hang this and when he did it.

Has it always been there, or was it just recently? "Ma'am," I heard the maid call and turned; she stood behind me and asked.

"Should I bring the coffee to your bedroom?"

My brows furrowed. What bedroom?

"I am a guest," I made it clear; she was making it seem like this was my home and I lived here.

"Uhm, everything in the kitchen is labeled. The groceries will soon be delivered; I am leaving now," she explained and turned to leave.

"Why are you leaving?" I asked in disbelief, If she left, then I would be alone here.

"Sir said we had the day off; he said his wife will be making dinner for him."

I clenched my fist. God, how didn't I realize six years ago how irritating Yan was ?

"This picture... has it always been here?" I asked even when I knew she might probably not tell me the truth.

"I have worked here for three years, and that picture has always been there," she answered and left.

What were Yan's true intentions because I couldn't understand why he would hang my picture in his mansion when he was married; didn't his wife ever get curious?

And who was his wife?

I spent the whole day making a good meal for him before I asked Cynthia to be in charge of the kids. It was 5 p.m., and I was getting impatient.

"He said he will be back by six; maybe I should leave before he returns," I thought. It wouldn't be proper for me to wait for him.

So I typed a message and sent it to him [I am leaving].

Shortly, a response came in: [If you leave, then all your efforts will go to waste.]

I snorted. Has anyone ever told him how irritating he was?

At that moment, I heard a car drive in. "Finally," I sighed and hurried to the entrance.

It wasn't Yan; Linda walked down the car and took off her sunglasses. She was dressed in a purple sleeveless gown, accompanied by the frown on her face when she saw me.

"What are you doing here?" Linda asked when she stood close to me; I was already annoyed, and she was the last thing I needed today.

"I don't think this is your house," I scoffed and returned inside, then sat on the couch as she walked past me.

"Yan!!" she yelled and hurried upstairs, then she rushed back downstairs.

"Yan!!!"

Her yells were getting irritating; couldn't she have just simply asked me where he was? Well, I heard couples didn't like when a third party interfered in their matters, so I will let her yell his name for all I care.

"Yan isn't around, so why are you here?" She folded her hand below her bosom and scrutinized me with her gaze.

"I am tired, Miss West; please spare me."

"Can you hear yourself speak?" She questioned in disbelief.

"You dont just show up in my fiance's home and sit like you owned it; I want you out at this very moment," Linda scolded, and I raised a brow.

Was she for real right now?

I stood up and approached her, "I am not in any way interested in the man you call your fiance, so back off."

"You have some guts talking to me; do you know who I am?"

This caused me to laugh. Wasn't she a human? Or did she think she could walk on me because of her last name?

"This man you call Fiance, does he know you are both engaged?" I asked in a mocking tone; she seems to be the only one flaunting the name, and besides, Yan was already married to me and refused to divorce... So how was she going to marry him?

"He asked me to come make a meal for him, so I will leave immediately he gets back," I added, and her gaze moved to the dining table, which was filled with the food I made.

So she hurried there and pushed some of the dishes to the ground. "Linda!!" I hurried towards her and pushed her away; she lifted her hand as her bracelet scraped my hand.

"Ahh," I winced out in pain.

"Hey!!" Yan yelled from the door; he hurried towards us and held my hand. It was just a little scrape, but it hurt a lot.

"Are you okay?" he asked, and I pulled my hand from him.

"You are here, so I am leaving."

I was about to leave when he held my hand and turned to Linda, "Get the fuck out of my house."

Linda's eyes widened in shock. "Yan... I"

"Get out or else I won't spare you."

She had an embarrassed look before she hurried out of the house, and Yan's gaze softened when he stared at me, "Come, I will clean this up."

I shook my head in denial, "I am fine."

"Come with me." He didn't listen to me and pulled me as we went upstairs.

Yan pushed a door open, and we walked in. He made me sit on the bed and took out the kit from his wardrobe.

After he cut the cotton, he poured some liquid on it and slightly dapped it on my injury.

"I am sorry." Yan apologized, and I couldn't get over his reaction. Why was he doing this and giving me the wrong signals?

"She is your fiancee; why did you send her away?"

"Are you crazy? You are my wife," he frowned, and I stood up when he pulled me back, his hand wrapped around my waist as his face was closer to mine.

I could feel his breath fan me before he whispered, "Just love me back, Ava; I will give you the world."

Of course, love was about promises and gifts. Thats what it was for him.

"Let me go," I muttered, but he still had his hands wrapped around my waist.

"Yan"

"I won't let you go," he answered as he raised my cheek with his finger.

"I am never letting you go," then he captured my lips with his; my eyes were left wide open.
