Ava's POV:
I hurried to the kids school, and the kids were really not there.
"Where are my kids?" I scolded, but the authorities didn't pay attention to me; they were busy attending to other parents with higher ranks.
"Why is no one answering me? I want my kids." I cried out as the teachers tried sympathizing with me.
"Ma'am, we are looking into it; we had no idea when the kids were taken."
They had no idea? Wasn't it their job to protect the kids?
"I want to watch the security camera," I said, but they kept refusing.
"That's restricted"
"What the fuck do you mean by that?" I scolded angrily.
"Can you stop causing a fuss, Miss Wood?" a lady's voice echoed from the hallway as she walked to me.
"Your kids were kidnapped, and we get it; we are working on it. So stop causing a fuss."
I was causing a fuss? This was the calmest I could get. I was about to yell again when my phone rang. I had already told Cynthia about the kids and expected her to be here already with Mike but she wasn't, I checked the call, it was a call from an unknown number.
"Hello?" I said anxiously, I didn't call the cops, so I hope they won't hurt my kids.
"Do you have the money? I will send you the location."
My total savings was 8000 USD; where was I going to get the rest from?
"Please, I can't..."
"I will send the address." He cut me off and ended the call. I fell down in tears. How could someone be so heartless to kidnap kids?
"You are causing a scene, Miss Woods, please."
"What did you say?" A hoarse voice echoed; Yan stood there with a frown; behind him was Cynthia.
The principal stared at him in shock. "Yan Earlton," she muttered as if asking for confirmation.
I rushed to Yan as my face was already wet from tears. "Yan, the kids... they are gone."
He hugged me tightly. "Calm down; I have got everything under control," he assured me, but I couldn't believe it. How could he get everything under control? He didn't even know who took them.
"Yan, I want my babies." I was finding it hard to breathe; those kids were my life, and without them, I couldn't live.
"Come," we both walked to the road, and there was a black van. Keren walked down the van and came to me, "Mrs. Earlton, can I please have your phone?"
I quickly handed the phone to her before Yan nodded, and she hurried back to the van.
"Yan, they want 50,000.."
"I can't believe they ask such a cheap amount; are my little sperms that worthless? I will kill them," Yan spouted; could tell he was angry and was trying to control it.
But was that a little amount?
"Baby, I will get the kids home for dinner. You should go back home now," he muttered, and I shook my head in denial. Wherever they were going, I also wanted to tag along; if I go back, then my thoughts alone will kill me.
"I understand you are sad, baby, but you have to listen to me... go back home with Cynthia."
Cynthia walked to me and held my hand. "I am sure the kids will be fine," she said, but I could see tears in her eyes. If she thought they would be fine, then why was she crying?
"Go on," Yan said, and we got to my car before Cynthia drove out. I kept staring out of the window worriedly. Lily must be so hungry right now, and Ryan was definitely going to try and rebel; he shouldn't do that.
Fred's brain must be very active right now; I am sure he isn't crying but finding ways to escape. "My little hero," I chuckled painfully.
"Ava, I am sorry I had to call Yan without your permission, but you know he is very capable of finding the kids." Cynthia apologized, and I nodded. I can't believe I was in this situation , but I still couldn't bring down my pride and run to Yan.
How was I going to fix this alone?
Night fast came, and I kept pacing in the sitting room, and I knew I was losing my mind. "I can't wait here anymore." I picked my purse to leave when Cynthia hurried and stopped me.
"Calm down, where are you going to?"
True, where was I going to start? Yan's number wasn't going through; no news, so how could I just stand here?
"Mother," I heard Lily run inside the house, and my eyes lit up.
"Lily," I ran and hugged her tightly. Ryan and Fred also ran to me as I enveloped them in a deep hug.
"How are you? Did they hurt you? Tell me we're you are hurt," I questioned anxiously, and they had a sad look.
"Those men hurt you," I clenched my fist angrily.
"No, mommy, they didn't hurt us. But they did hurt Daddy," Lily explained, and my eyes widened in shock.
I noticed they were brought home by Keren and not Yan. "What happened to Yan?" I asked Keren, and she shook her head to the negative.
"It's nothing; he was tired and decided to go back home," she explained, but I didn't believe her; I could tell she was lying through her teeth.
Cynthia held the kids before she said, "You should go check on him; I will take care of the kids."
I smiled appreciatetively at Cynthia before I turned to leave when Keren stood before me.
"I told you he was fine; you shouldn't stress yourself, Mrs. Earlton."
