It was dark when Gwen decided to sneak out of Thorndyke's dorm.
She had no idea where Thorndyke had slept in the night and it was already past curfew but she had to know if Zyre was okay.
He hadn't been responding through the bond and no one would tell her about him at all. Was he hurt?
The thought made a sudden protectiveness spark inside of Gwen.
Oh, if the fairies hurt him in any way then she would personally return the favor.

She stepped tip-toed through the hallway, as she kept all her senses on high alert.
If she got caught this time, then she would have to face consequences.
Gwen's heart was racing as she navigated through the corridors, constantly looking over her shoulder for any sign of being followed or caught. She was thankful that the late hour meant most of the students were already in their beds.
