"There she is. Get her," the one closest to her shouted, and she could practically hear the smile in its voice.
"What are you doing?!" Zyre panicked.
"Buying you time," she thought back, making him growl. She could feel that Zyre was close. She just needed to distract the creatures until Zyre arrived at the scene.
Gwen let it let out an annoying laugh, hoping to bait them all.
"Hey, you pointy-eared freaks!" she called out, running down an empty path.
The three fairies immediately broke out in a sprint, following her.
She could hear them closing in behind her. The Faes were fast, surprisingly faster than she had expected. She could hear little giggles and gasps that sounded way too sweet for such evil beings.
"Not far now, you little mortal flesh-bag," the female fairy giggled, her voice was like a song, sweet and lulling.
