For new adventurers, the name "Hera Familia" sounds unfamiliar to their ears. However, senior adventurers are different—they still vividly remember the nightmare from fifteen years ago.
Essentially, Zeus Familia and Hera Familia were the strongest Familias in the world over the last thousand years. They completely dominated all other Familias in Orario, and even Freya or Loki Familia couldn't compare to them, even now.
After the entire Zeus Familia and Hera Familia were annihilated following the battle with the One-Eyed Black Dragon, the captain of Zeus Familia, Maxim, an adventurer of Level 8, dragged his half-dead body to Orario and began rampaging violently, killing innocent people.
The citizens of Orario believed Maxim had gone mad due to losing all his comrades, but few knew the real reason—he did it so the adventurers of Orario could gain large amounts of Excelia after defeating him, leading to a mass leveling up.
Maxim used his nearly dead body as a sacrifice to strengthen the next generation.
'Their reactions are exactly as Goddess Hera predicted. Well, this isn't the first time I've been resented by everyone; I'm used to it.' Thought Charlie as he observed the adventurers in the hall.
Most of the adventurers were openly hostile toward him, with no intention of hiding it.
Charlie understood the reason behind their hostility.
From what he'd heard from Hera, during the era of Zeus Familia and Hera Familia, Orario wasn't a pleasant place. The level of slaughter and destruction that occurred during the seven-day war against Evilus was considered "normal". Worse still, there would be even more Level 6 and Level 7 adventurers fighting in the city.
The two strongest Familias of that era routinely crushed rising Familias before they could gain more power.
The defeat against the One-Eyed Black Dragon was the final blow for the people who had lived through that chaos. Maxim's rampage to level up Orario's adventurers was like pouring gasoline on a fire.
Only after Loki Familia and Freya Familia joined forces to expel those two Familias did Orario enter an era of peace.
"He's a member of Hera Familia? But isn't Hera Familia only for women?"
"That doesn't matter! Hera Familia was exiled from Orario; could it be that Hera-sama has returned?"
"That's a bad omen. I don't want to live in that era of chaos again."
The adventurers gossiped among themselves. No one welcomed the arrival of a member of Hera Familia.
"Be careful, Charlie. I'm worried you'll be discriminated against by almost everyone. But, given your strength, unless a First-Class Adventurer shows up to cause trouble, you'll be fine."
Aphrodite wanted to remind him to be cautious, but she remembered Charlie was capable of defeating a Griffin. Normal standards couldn't judge his strength.
"Don't worry, Goddess Aphrodite. If I can't defeat an opponent, I'll run. You know there's no one who can stop me from escaping." Charlie said confidently.
There was only one adventurer in Orario who could fly—Asfi from Hermes Familia. If Charlie truly encountered an opponent he couldn't beat, he'd escape by flying. He has long discarded his honor; as long as he can survive, he doesn't mind using even dirty methods
"Mhmmm... Excuse me, Charlie Avalon's registration has been denied."
Interrupting their conversation, Sophie bravely stated this.
"Why?" Charlie asked calmly.
"Zeus-sama and Hera-sama were exiled and are not allowed to return to Orario. That's why the Guild can't accept your registration."
"Sophie, I think you've misunderstood. No one said that Goddess Hera has returned to Orario."
"Huh?"
Not only Sophie, but the other staff watching were also confused.
To update an adventurer's status, only the god who grants Falna can do it. If Hera isn't in Orario, then how did Charlie update his status?
This was the thought running through all the Guild staff's minds.
"You don't know? Charlie has a Skill that allows him to update his own status. So, Hera isn't needed. Moreover, the exile only applies to Zeus and Hera; their children aren't banned, right?"
Aphrodite defended Charlie unconditionally.
"Is that true?" Sophie asked in disbelief.
This was the first time she had heard of a human being able to update their status without the help of a god.
"Would Goddess Aphrodite need to lie?"
Charlie's simple question left Sophie speechless, unsure of what to do.
At that moment, a shoulder-length brown-haired Half-Elf came to assist Sophie.
"Sophie, don't make decisions on your own. Consult the Guild Master about this matter first."
"You're right, Eina. This is beyond my jurisdiction. I should report this to the Guild Master first. Charlie-san, could you please wait for a moment?"
"Sure."
Charlie had anticipated that his registration wouldn't go smoothly, so he didn't mind letting Sophie speak to her superior.
"Excuse me."
After that, Sophie left the counter and hurriedly climbed the stairs to the Guild Master's office.
"Apologies for the inconvenience, Charlie-sama, Aphrodite-sama."
"As expected from you, Eina. You quickly found a solution."
"Your praise is too much, Aphrodite-sama. What I did wasn't extraordinary."
The Half-Elf was named Eina Tulle, one of the receptionists with many suitors.
"Once this matter is resolved, let's go to my Familia's headquarters. I'll introduce you to Harmonia."
The adventurers' hostility grew stronger after hearing Aphrodite's words to Charlie.
Most of the adventurers in the hall were fans of Harmonia; they didn't want her getting close to a member of Hera Familia.
"We'll part ways here." Charlie said lightly, ignoring the stares from those around them.
"Huh?" Aphrodite was stunned.
"I don't want to trouble you further, Goddess Aphrodite. And besides, there will be many problems awaiting me, and I don't want to involve you."
"Sigh... Do as you please, but you have to tell me where you'll be staying later."
Seeing the determination in Charlie's eyes, Aphrodite gave up trying to persuade him.
"Of course." Charlie replied.
"..."
Watching their harmonious interaction, Eina didn't understand why Charlie didn't choose to join Aphrodite Familia instead of Hera Familia.
Shortly after, Sophie returned with the Guild Master's decision.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, Charlie-san. The Guild Master has approved your registration. From now on, you are an adventurer."
"Mm." Charlie nodded.
Even if he had been rejected, he would have still entered the Dungeon.
Anyone could enter the Dungeon, even civilians without Falna. Of course, their life and death would be left to fate.
As for selling magic stones, even though the Guild dominated the market, Charlie didn't believe there wasn't anyone trading magic stones illegally. He just needed to find the black market and sell his magic stones there.
"Charlie-san, do you need an advisor? When exploring the Dungeon, no matter what problem you face, you can consult with your advisor. The advisor's job is to do their best to help you!"
Sophie carried out her duties as expected.
"No need for an advisor."
After completing all the registration procedures, Charlie and Aphrodite left the Guild's headquarters.
Soon after, three people who didn't seem friendly quietly followed the two of them.
"We'll part ways here. Thank you for your help, Goddess Aphrodite."
"Don't forget to visit me and let me know where you'll be staying."
"Alright."
"Be careful, don't die."
Although Aphrodite was reluctant to part with him, she knew Charlie had to deal with the "rats" behind them. So she returned to her Familia's headquarters.
"Now, it's time to take out the trash."
The smile on Charlie's face disappeared, replaced by an overwhelming hatred emanating from him.
When dealing with 'trash', he never showed the slightest kindness.
With that, he deliberately walked into a deserted alley.
