I imagined the young lady misunderstanding me, but from what I'd heard, it seemed she had been the one misunderstanding the intentions of these mafia men.
There was no way they didn't want anything, and the fact that her cousin still held rights to her company that these Hardins wanted made me question what exactly she added to the group.
Did they just want to protect her as the original heir and make her give the company to her cousin at the end of the day? Would that be how she'd be expected to pay them back?
"Alpha Sebastian, I don't really understand what you mean," she said, her eyes boring into my head. "If you mean I should make myself useful to the Lennon family, then you have to understand that I need permission from them to do anything."
"Don't you think you should begin fighting for that permission so you won't be owing them?"
